      We are sorry to hear your packages were not delivered as expected.  The tracking shows that **** was not able to validate the shipping address(es) entered on the orders.  As those orders were not received, we did issue full refunds to the original payment method.  Those refunds can take 2-5 business days to post to your original payment method or account. The total refund was for $111.08 for the 3 separate orders.  Again, we do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you or your recipients.

      The date of the transaction was 9/30/2024. I had sold the company many of my own personal, new condition books for a sum of $21.91. I ordered 8 of their books in less quality condition, for $97.88, which they took out of my bank account immediately. They took the $21.91 that I sold my own books for, and applied that sum to my order, which made my order $75.97. At the first of October of 2024, when one of my backordered books had not come in time for my friend's birthday; which was entitled: ************** Friends in Conversation; I contacted them to cancel that book; which shortly thereafter they contacted me & said that they couldn't fulfill the order for that book, anyway. After that, they sent me an e-mail saying that they were going to refund the price of the book back to my credit or debit card, which they said was going to be $22.35. Today, October 15, 2024, I received my bank statement, and it said that they only refunded me $ .44 cents. Now, they are saying that the money they said I was going to be refunded, is actually going to be a gift card, to purchase more of their books, which I don't want to do, now, because of this trouble they are causing me. I think it is a bad practice for their business; I am disabled; I live in ********** housing; I live on food stamps; and I just cannot afford to look the other way, when they promise to refund me what is due me, $22.35, and after much writing ************* with no resolution; I am asking the BBB to help me. I hope you can get this settled so I can receive my $22.35 from the company. I will not have anything to do with this company after this whole mess gets settled. I did print out their letter that stated that they would refund my money back to my credit or debit account; and it was for the $22.35. The order # from the vendor who cancelled the backorder client was #*********. The order # I originally had when I ordered the books was #********. I still have both papers, if needed.

      I purchased a book from the website, the listing showed a specific book with a specific cover, which is what I was looking for. I specifically purchased this for that cover as a gift for someone. The book I received was the correct title but the wrong cover and the whole reason I purchased this book was for that cover, which is what the cover was listed as on the listing on their website, when I reached out to customer service with this for resolution, they said that the book is nonrefundable because the one that I received is the correct book with a different cover, but thats not the one that was listed on their website and it is not what I . I placed my order on September 27, 2004.

      I made an order of 3.99 but I needed the book quickly so I paid roughly 15 to get the 2 days shipping. It will only arrive after 4 days. When I mentioned it to thrift books that I wanted a refund since they did not provide the service they promised they sent me a link that has their shipping policy, which was NOT clear on the purchase of the special shipping. Had I done nothing and not paid extra Id likely have gotten the book on the same day or 1-2 after for the standard 5-7 day shipment.

      I purchased two books from Thriftbooks on July 25 for $35.09 and I had a $6 credit for buying any book over $6. Both of my books were over $6 a piece. I met the timeline to get my $6 book Reward Credit (expired July 27). I also met the timeline for the 30 bonus points (last day July 31). I submitted a message to Thriftbooks and did get a reply but I cannot find the email. I was told that my credit would be refunded to me. That didn't happen.

      Either the book is not as described, or it was severely damaged in shipment. This heavy and sizeable hardcover book is bent in the middle, and the covers are separated at the binding. This book arrived in the green Thriftbook labled plastic bag type envelope. This method greatly exposes the book to handling damage, especially for books that are large and heavy like this one. I have tried going through the Thriftbook "returns" process, but that site will not let me complete a return request. I have tried to find some way to call Thriftbooks, but I can find no way to do so on their site.

      Thriftbooks.com recently started a book buy-back program. You can use their app to scan the **** of the book and get an instant quote from them. I followed their process (carefully packing books, using their shipping label, including a packing slip) and submitted 14 books. Many were hardcovers with dust jackets in very good used condition. They quoted me just over $13, which was low, but I agreed to this. They just paid me $3.18 for these 14 books. Additionally, they are stating that 12 of the 14 books I sent them were missing. These books were not missing. In my opinion, they are operating a scam to trick people into sending them books, paying them pennies (or not at all) so they can add to their stock and resell at much higher prices. I contacted their customer service and they immediately responded with Items we receive that do not meet our acceptable condition requirements are either re-valued or rejected and your BuyBack Offer will be adjusted. Rejected items are not eligible for payment and will be recycled. We cannot send back rejected items. I feel this is a scam and the public should be warned that they are fraudulently obtaining books from customers.

      They refuse phone or text customer service. My email not working but they insist the only way to order the 6 health books Ive selected in their website is to remember my old email password or make a new one. Dont know how. Isnt accommodating customer service worth at least half the value of a business? ??**************.

      The books were advertised as being in good or acceptable condition, and as it is evident, they are not. Plus, I was offered a refund on 6/7/2024 which has not been delivered. The company makes it difficult to contact a representative.

      I wish to stay anonymous. My wife has been working there since the early winter. They have no AC/Heat. They are working in poor work conditions. It is the beginning of summer and my wife comes home literally everyday dehydrated and drained from the heat inside the building.
