I took my dog into get fixed. Today, 7/25/22, I took her in to get her staples removed. The vet was extremely rude, condescending, belittling, rolled his eyes, laughed at my concerns and called me a liar. My dogs incision was red, ******, and looked infected. He injected her with a tranquilizer medication that was not warranted. He did not clean her wound, did not send home antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medication. This is the second negative incident my family has endured at his hands in the past 2 months. The second opinion I sought after this knew without me saying anything that it was this vet. He clearly has been behaving this way to many people recently. I was told that the vet uses staples because it is faster, even though it leaves animals looking like this afterwards. In my opinion, theres no excuse for this laziness or arrogance.

      Good Afternoon,

As the owner of North Cascade Veterinary Hospital, I have reviewed the complaint.  We do not have this client in our records.  I have also spoke to our staff regarding the complaint.  ************ and myself are the only two male doctors in the Hospital.  We did not see a client regarding a spay incision on the date described in the complaint.  We also do not use staples in our spay incisions.  I believe the complaint is regarding a different veterinary clinic and doctor.

      Thank you,

      ***********************

I am rejecting this response because:

This owner response is unfounded. Just because I questioned why her under area looked strange, even after I notified the vet she had the collar on the entire time, does not mean I was calling him a liar. He called ME a liar because he had seen this type of wound on other pets. Never did I say I knew more than him. I DID say, however, my other dogs that had recieved spays did not have metal staples. When questioned, he ASSUMED  my questions were a stab at his credibility. This is untrue. Never did I question his schooling until he belittled me, in the front of his staff and other clients while in the waiting room. He also gave the "free" shot without my consent. As you will notice, that take home form does not constitute consent for additional medication. He said that shot was to "calm her down" as she was "too hyper". He did not give me the name of the medication. My family member has no interest in this matter. Also, an award 50 years ago does not constitute current medical knowledge on current veterinary procedures.

      Sincerely,
