Planet fitness membership was not as advertised. Many machines broken and smelly and crowded. I asked to close my membership via phone which was denied. I blocked the charges with my bank but they still attempt every month. Id like a refund of all charges and cancellation of my membership.Initial Complaint

A little over six months ago, I tried to cancel my membership at this Planet Fitness location. I telephoned them and asked that they cancel my membership. I was told that they would cancel, but they did not give me a receipt or confirmation. A few months later I found that my checking account had several fraudulent charge attempts and I called **** of America to close the account and it was zeroed out. Each month after that, Planet Fitness continued to try to charge a monthly fee to my account. I called them again, and they once again indicated it was cancelled. The next month I personally went into the facility and again was told that my account was cancelled. Yet they kept trying each month to charge against my now zeroed checking account (which at the time I didn't realize **** of America would not close it because the account was joint with my mother). My mother finally got involved and called them on 10/18 and spoke with the front desk. They again confirmed that they would cancel the account, and this time they indicated that they would not cancel the charges they had made against my checking account. They promised I would receive an email with an attachment indicating cancellation. I received the email - NO ATTACHMENT. My mother AGAIN called on 10/20 to complain. This time they sent the email to her, with an attachment. But the attachment said I owed them $203.54. It also said my last visit was on 6/14/23, which was the date I went to the facility to CANCEL my membership. The $203.54 was never paid from my checking account, but they still say I owe them this amount. I want Planet Fitness to eliminate this charge.Business response

The email address on *********************************** cancellation request form was different from the email provided on this filed complaint. So that is why there may have been some confusion with not receiving the cancellation notice (see attached). This membership has been successfully cancelled and the balance due of $203.54 has been waived. We have no prior attempts of the member contacting the club to cancel their membership prior to the actual cancellation date of 10/18/2023.Initial Complaint

im a disable ******* vet era now about 6 wks ago my boots were stoleing from under bench in locker room my now x friend ***** knew who took my boots i have been called b**** mother f***** and p**** un qoute from vinnys friend rich everyday rich calls me names and says hes gonna kick my a** ive been 2 management at gym nothing is getting done about it can u help this *************** was gonna 2 planet fitness ************ now he comes 2 uitca ** gymBusiness response

I joined online but have never made it to the gym so I mailed them a letter to cancel and they have not done so so I want my money back and the membership cancelledBusiness response

Good Morning, We received ******** cancellation letter dated 4/27/2022 on 5/7/2022. ******'s membership was cancelled effective 5/7/2022. Please see attached for a copy of ******'s cancellation letter and a screenshot of ******'s cancelled membership effective 5/7/2022.
