****************** brought his ** to Genesis Automotive and ** Repair July 10th 2023. Our advisor worked with ********** taking his requested services and building an initial repair order. The customers concern stated at the time of the appointment was to inspect brakes, the advisor believes he described a squeeling in his brakes. We used our canned job for brake inspection which includes disassembly to a point where we can see what is actually going on. Typically raising the vehicle off the ground, removing all six wheels and performing visual inspections. When we inspected Mr. ******** brakes were found to have left rear brakes metal to metal, the right rear caliper was not releasing and going to be metal to metal soon. The recommendation was a complete rebuild of the rear brake system and also doing the fronts at the same time.

***************** told our service advisor that he only wanted brake pads installed and he would pick up the vehicle. The advisor advised we could not do as he requested due to our policy regarding safety. ****************** advised he would bring his own parts and we could install them, again the advisor told him this was against policy as Genesis will not supply customer parts especailly safety related because we must control the quality of components used. Dissatisfied ****************** asked to speak to me. When I called him he asked me the same basic requests and I supported our policy and advised we could not in good consience perform a partial repair on brakes. He asked me to discount the repairs for financial reasons and I advised if I gave each person a discount because they asked I would not be here long and our warranty would be useless.

Disgruntled ****************** accecpted my answers and advised he would come pick up his **. I thanked him and apologized that do repair the brakes for safety and to be properly done was out of his reach. I advised it would be best to have the ** towed, he advised he would not and would drive it away. I advisedin that case he must sign a waiver that he was advised and Genesis could not be held liable if he was in an accident because of brake failure.

On July 18th 2023 ***************** came and picked up his **. In early August he posted on ****** a one star review that he had the brakes repaired for $1,900.00. I am happy for him however I am reasonably certain the complete repair of all four brake calipers, two new rear rotors and machining the fronts with a complete brake fluixchange was performed. I could not purchase parte for the rear alone for $1,900.00 in the type quality parts we use.

In conclusion I feel Genesis did as requested, he was provided a wheels off brake inspection. We reported the findings to him and advised him of the costs to properly repair his vehicle as per our professional assesment. WE then reassembled what we had taken apart for the inspection and sent him on his way. I believe we provided the service requested at the price negoaited at the beginning.

      Respectfully,

      ***********************

Picked up Rv from Genesis on 3/24/2022 Work I approved Body work passenger side of coach. 3 compartment doors needed fixed or replaced. Handles/locks replaced. Hydraulic step broken. worked up and down but needed fixed back into place. Replace spent coach batteries 4 - 12v batteries Install bathroom ceiling fan Tune up Replace 1 windshield wiper I paid Genesis ******. In full Status: Body work not finished. They claim I declined 17k worth of body work which is ridiculous. was charged 7k for body work. only declined new awning Charged for locks/ handles for compartment doors but were not installed. locks/ handles not installed items were stolen from underneath my coach totaling over $7500. Charged for Windshield wiper- Not installed. Charged for 4-6v batteries. I specifically told them I wanted 12v batteries. Batteries not charging due to broken module. I was never told about this either. battery system not working. Step not fixed. Placed in up position but not working up and down because of an air leak I was not told about. No air leak when dropped off. I can't level my rv and am afraid to drive because brakes are air brakes. Will not fill over 70 psi. I'm very unhappy with the service and communication. Especially my stolen property. The owner has admitted to me that they parked my rv outside their secure area that has supposedly excellent security the first weekend after I left it with them. They knew I lived full time in my Rv and they knew my lower compartments were damaged and could not be secured. I was told they had excellent security and felt good leaving my things with them. I have a list of over $7500 worth of items stolen from my rv due to their negligence. The owner claims they are not responsible. If he will not agree to remedy all the mistakes made on the repairs and reimburse me for my stolen property I will file small claims court and post negative reviews for his business so no one else has this happen to them..

I have been in contact with ***************. I have gone over her complaints and concerns. She and I discussed getting the ** here so she and I could go over each of her concerns individually. I have spent considerable time responding to each of her concerns some of which she does not answer my questions so I can figure out why she is concerned. A couple examples, she has mentioned her batteries more than once. I have asked why she would want to change from 6 volt batteries to 12 volt, that is not how these **s are designed, especially hers. I have asked why she wants to do this and I get no response. Another is the air leak. We were unaware of a leak, had we known we would have either fixed it or gotten permission to fix it. I don't know if it was leaking from the time she left or somewhere along the way. I am attaching all of my responses to her concerns, I believe you will see my constant theme is to personally see what she is talking about and compare to our repairs and make her happy where we missed our ****. I cannot do this over the phone or by email. Our biggest sticking point is the theft of items. We were not informed that there was 7k of valuables that needed to be cared for by parking inside, had she told us that we would have told her we could not be responsible. I feel very bad that something has been reported stolen here however we did not hear about this until after she returned home. I am willing to take care of my responsibilities first, then discuss how we may be able to help come to a solution. She is now talking about suing us, that is her right however, it seems to me to get as much as possible solved then go to court if needed.

      Thank you for your time,

      Complaint: 17006315

I am rejecting this response because it does not address the issue of my stolen property .I am a 56 year old woman living full time in my Rv it isn't unusual that i would have things such as a portable inverter generator (*******) and power tools and other tools(1500.00) as well as other outdoor camping and survival equipment ie: fishing gear, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags, survival food, outdoor cookware, lanterns, etc.. plus I had a new set of luggage stolen along with my winter clothing, boots etc. All of the items to replace I've totaled to over ****. I feel any Rv repair shop would know that someone living in their coach full time will be leaving these things in their coach because honestly where in the world would i have put it all? This was why I specifically asked them about their security system as they claimed to have a top notch system, so i felt good about leaving my coach with my property there with them. And from what I hear it would have been just fine had they kept it inside of their secure area. But it wasn't. They left it outside on the street with my damaged unsecured compartment doors open for anyone to just take my things. I had left my coach inside their property and I now wonder why it was parked outside like that... maybe someone saw my things and thought to park it out there to have access to it. In any case I find it completely irresponsible to leave someone's coach,my home, parked on the street outside their secure area like that for anyone to take what they wanted and then tell me they aren't responsible. I am amenable to them fixing the things they need to fix but I also want to be reimbursed for the large scale theft that would not have happened had they secured my coach inside of their property as i was led to believe would be the case. I had no idea they were going to park it out on the street, knowing my compartments were damaged and could not be secured. If they agree to fix all of the things that weren't finished and install the things I paid for already that were never installed plus cover my stolen property I would be happy with that outcome. Other than the generator there was nothing super expensive by itself but added up yes I had many good quality items that I have spent years accumulating and my great grandfather's fishing gear that can not ever be replaced. Now some thief is enjoying my things because of this shop and their irresponsible action. I will agree to Drop any action against them if they would simply do the right thing and own responsibility for all the work that was unfinished in my original complaint in addition to covering the expense of my items that Im now without.Genesis says they can't be responsible but how about fault? It was certainly their fault for leaving my Rv unsecured as they did. I don't see how anyone could disagree with that. They never informed me that I should remove any property because they didn't want to be held liable nor is it on my paperwork. If I'd known they were going to leave my coach on the street like that unsecured I wouldn't have left it there. Instead I was told they had a "kick ass" security system as of of the Genesis employees referred to it. That is the resolution I would like and the one I feel entitled to receiving. I'm certain if I caused any damage on their property they'd claim I was liable how is it not reciprocal? It comes down to a matter of trust as far as I'm concerned. Sincerely,

      ***********************
