July of 2022, I purchased an 8-week-old male maine coon from this breeder. The kitten showed signs of illness within 3 days of my bringing it home. The vet diagnosed it with FIP and giardia and within 5 weeks of bringing this kitten home he died a horrible death even with vet care. I notified the breeder and she claimed she didn't know what FIP was but said she was sorry that it happened and offered a replacement kitten. To make sure I didn't have a contagious home for a new kitten I waited 3 months and contacted her again for the replacement kitten. She offered a 10-week-old kitten and asked if I would like to buy another at the same time. I said yes. Upon bringing both home I had them to the vet by the 2nd day. They both had giardia and needed treatment right away. Giardia in kittens can be fatal and is transmitted to them from the mother. They were so sick with it, they required 3 rounds of treatment. I thought we were past this illness until one of the kittens was 6 month old and developed a pinched intestine from the damage and sepsis. We did emergency surgery but he was too sick with the sepsis and had no chance of survival, so he had to be let go during the surgery. Surgery and the vet visits leading up to this cost $3000. After he passed I let the breeder know what had happened and the vets conclusions. She was apologetic and offered to refund his fee of $1700 to purchase him and I accepted. The remaining kitten out of 3 that has survived has a slew of problems and is allergic to most everything including his food and has to have daily medications. He is just 1 year old now. I've made sure she knew about the remaining kitten's allergies in case any of the others from the litter also had problems. She is no longer responding to my texts letting her know how he is and how he's growing. I looked deep into her breeding posts and have found she is NOT a small in-house breeder but has about 20 females she is constantly breeding and selling kittens for $2000 each.
