I called Budiac Plumbing to replace an anode rod on my hot water heater. After getting a quote for $225.00 plus tax we agreed on Tuesday August 20th between 8:00am & 8:30am (there was to be no truck charge if we did it 1st thing in the morning). The week before they called to find out the price we agreed upon & asked to move appt. to between 11am & 1 pm. I told price & okayed the switch. Tuesday around 11:15am the tech called/came. The tech turned off the hot & cold water & drained the tank via the drain valve & the T&P relief valve. It took him 30 minutes to replace the anode rod. The tech put a sponge under the T&P pipe to catch any water that it expelled. Afterwards he said at least 3 times he wanted to check for leaks (once after the anode rod was in; another as I released air in the hot water line & finally after the ************* paid). The base of the hot water stayed wet for 2 ******** saw there was water dripping from the T&P pipe. I put a dish under the T&P line & determined the leak was from the T&P line & not the hot water heater. I called Thursday & asked if the dripping would stop or if it needed attention. After discussion Budiac called twice Friday & said the T&P valve was probably bad & needed replacement, they wanted to send a tech friday afternoon to replace. I asked how much a T&P valve would cost (wondering if it was worth the appt or not). I was told it was less than $50.00 and there would be no truck charge as it would be put on the same service call. I told the receptionist I could swing that. I asked if we would do it next ********** said they would do it this afternoon because only takes a couple of minutes. The tech came & replaced the valve in about 15 minutes, but had a hard time replacing the T&P discharge pipe. I started walking downstairs to see what was taking so long. He cut another s**** attachment. He then presented a bill for $226. I was shocked & called Budiac & asked why the price change. They would review & send a new bill.
