Bought a Maytag washing machine in 2021 and a three year extended warranty they sold from ******** Protection Plan. Fast Forward to this year 3 months before our extended warranty expired we needed a minor repair. The fill button stopped working. When we called tried calling ******** and found out they were purchased by **** ****** and we could not get through at all. Tried doing it on their website but we were not in the system. Spoke with the Manager about the problem a few times and he was absolutely no help at all. We tried going above him and never received a call back. Since my washer was still working we just gave up. What if my washer wasnt working at all? Just want people to be aware of this problem. I will also file a complaint against Four Square also.Review from Daniel S.

I purchased self adhesive carpet with a 5 year warranty. It was installed 3 months after purchase at my fishing club. Shortly after installation we noticed that it was badly fraying and constantly clogging up the sweeper with carpet fiber. I sent a letter to Menards along with pictures and they, along with the manufacturer, agreed it was defective and said I could receive a store credit for the amount purchased, $1,465.79, if I returned the carpet or get a $750 store credit without a return. I was fine with this being that the carpet was purchased over 3 months prior. However, I told them that the carpet could not be returned until the following year, 2025, during our "work week" at the camp. They, in return, said that I had to sign a release form and take the $750 by the end of 2024 or imply that I would not get anything. I felt no choice but to do this. I asked them what does a 5 year warranty cover on their products and have not received any explanation. In contrast, I had a defective tool after 2 years with a 5 year warranty and took it back to **********. They gave me a new one even though the cost of the tool went up over $100.Review from Isley M

My husband rented a truck from Menards to move some wood. He deposited $300 to use the truck. When pulling out of our apartment, he was a bit too close to a pole which is paint yellow for people coming in and out of the complex. It is somewhat narrow. So, minimal paint, like small amount barely noticeable was on the truck. My husband was honest a told what happened. Menards said they would keep his $300 deposited to fix it. Then two days later he was contacted saying it was $2000 worth of damage. I wish I could upload the picture you could barely see the yellow paint from the pole on the dark truck. It was a minor paint scrape, keeping the $300 was fine, but two layers shooting up to $2000.00 is insane. I am willing to share the photo. It is minor. My husband was responsible and willing turned over his deposit to Menards, but it wasn't $2000 worth of damage. So $2000 plus $300 deposit they have charged him $2,300 dollars for minor paint being g removed.Review from Mary P

Menards Online purchasing needs help. It is not efficient as orders get broken up which effects fulfillment notifications. Menards charged me a 20 percent restocking fee totaling over$600 for an order I had cancelled and never picked up at their ********** ** store. The store manager could have cared less and conducted himself in an arrogant manner. When explaining I had cancelled this order, I was informed only part of the order was cancelled because Menards had broken the order up into 3 sub-orders. While trying to sort this all out, even the Manager was confused as to what happened. Menards does not care about customer service anymore. Warning to consumers: Be cautious and beware if purchasing from Menards online, essentially their website and online purchasing is flawed.Review from Rhonda G

I was in the ********* **** store and paid cash for my purchase I forgot my receipt and called back to see if there was anything they could do and the girl that answered the phone said use a credit card next time and hung up and I tried to contact the corporate office and that’s a joke. I trust a Menards with special Order doors we are now going on three months and I’ve yet to receive my doors with an incompetent staff at ******** Menards not only did they screw up my order, but they keep lying to me about when the order is going to get there. I feel as though the people in the store are playing games with my order now you’re waiting on your order and you have a client screaming at you and you keep Trinkling them the information the store is giving you and it never happens, do not trust Menards. They will leave you high and dry and they will definitely screw you over. If you have a deadline. It is the worst experience I’ve ever encountered. I’ve been doing business for 32 years and I’ve never been treated the way I have with Menards.Review from Robert L

The flooring we got had a 15-year warranty. Before a year was out the plastic on top of the vinyl plank flooring started coming off all over the place. Contacted Menards. Filled out the form they give you. It is a Menards brand. It has been months. Already had one person slip and fall due to loose plastic. 2 separate contractors say manufacturers defect. Still waiting on Menards. It is a safety hazard that is due to Menards brand flooring. I do NOT recommend buying flooring from Menards. They do not honor their warranties.Review from Emily S

On September 24, 2024, my husband went to the ******** **** Menards store. After going to pick up area to get a door we had purchased, he presented his receipt to exit. The employee asked if he could search the vehicle & husband said ‘No problem, I can open the tail gate from here.’ The employee then specified that he needed to search the interior cab of the truck. When asked why, the employee answered it was to prevent anything from being stolen or anything leaving that isn’t supposed to. He asked employee if theft prevention is the reason for the attempted search, why the employee hadn’t requested to search the van or the truck who were ahead of him in line when the only difference was that he is black & the other customers were white. The employee had no response, & my husband drove away. I contacted the General Manager to get an explanation for what occurred & was informed that this Menards subcontracts security to *********** ****** ******* ******. I requested to know if it is standard procedure to search vehicles. Jordan stated that there are signs posted in the pick-up area that vehicles are subject to search for loss prevention reasons. He stated that it is NOT company policy to search a vehicle interior. The singular sign I was shown states: “Present Your Order Here. Have Trailer Doors Open For Inspection. Thank You For Shopping At Menards. Please Open Trunk For Inspection.” Daryl did confirm that he & the security staff are employed by *********** ****** ******* ******. I asked Daryl if it was common practice to search the interior of customers’ vehicles. His response was “I don’t know why he did that. We usually just look through the windows, you know, as we walk to the tail gate. If we have to look in the vehicle, we just open a door & look inside. We don’t go digging through anyone’s stuff.” Our conclusion then is that the reason for this discriminatory and disparate treatment is my husband’s race.Review from Adrienne D

Tonight, my husband and I went to pick up an online order from Menard’s. Because the items were large, we were given a pass to go pick it up from the back gates area, where the lumber is, etc. My husband went inside and was given the items we ordered, no paperwork at all, and loaded them into our vehicle. We went to the gate to leave and weren’t allowed to leave because we didn’t have a paper receipt, that we weren’t given. My husband showed the gate attendant his order pick up emails but that wasn’t good enough. We let him look in our car, not good enough. We had to drive back to the pick up counter to ask for a receipt. The female manager working insisted she gave us the receipt but she did not. No apology from her for anything. We got our receipt, went back to the gate to try to leave again, and were still given the third degree. We attempted to speak to a manager inside and they couldn’t have cared less.
