  I had visited for a wake at Proko funeral home. I signed a book of condolences and added my contact information for the family.Proko funeral home use my address and sold it to a third-party company called funeral home information center out of ******** ******. In about 2 1/2 weeks after the visit I received unsolicited information from both Proko and the funeral home information center. I was very disturbed by seeing this as theres no way Proko shouldve even had my address to begin with. I want a formal apology and for this process to stop immediately.   We would NEVER EVER take peoples information from a register book at a visitation or a funeral. The register book is for the family that we are serving. We are a third-generation family business, and we greatly value the trust that people put in us.
  
  We do, however, have a contract with an outside marketing firm (we are too small of a company to do our own), that purchases mailing lists and mails out marketing materials. These materials help us better understand our community and inform our families about the options of pre-planning funerals as we feel this is extremely important given the amount of stress it reduces at the time of someones passing. 

  The address information is public record and we utilized a third party to gather the information in order to complete our mailing. 

  I have cc'd you on both my request and confirmation from Precoa (the marketing agency) of your address being removed from any future mailings. 

  I apologize for the inconvenience and feel terribly that you thought we would invade someones privacy in this way. Please feel free to reach out to me with any other questions or concerns.
