Opened a CD at a promotional rate. At maturity it would automatically renew at some ridiculously low rate. Called customer service of the date of maturity to move the money to my checking account, a pretty simple transaction. I was told I was required to go to a physical location to transfer the founds. So I drove there on my lunch break. The Teller informed me I had to meet with a banker to complete the transaction. Wasted 20 minutes for something that should be as simple as a few clicks online.Associated Bank, N.A. Response

Frustrated to say the least. Took out a loan for a car with them over a month ago. ****** is stating that they have yet to receive the money and is threatening to Repo my car / take to collections. Associated Bank has been TERRIBLE with communication. Just outright terrible. After prying the information out of them turns out they lost my cashiers check but theyre attempting to make things right. Meanwhile ****** is still calling me to threaten to take my car away. Even though this loan has YET to be finalized and associated bank has admitted this is their fault, they are still auto drafting my payments for the car that is still technically not even mine. How is that even possible?????It was significantly easier to take a home loan with a different financial institution than it has been to take out a very simple car loan through associated. Extremely frustrated and have yet to get a solidified answer on how I will be made whole for the countless hours and stress I have put up with. Not to mention that because of this, ****** is calling my place of employment informing our employees that I have late payments. ALL BECAUSE ASSOCIATED CANT MANAGE A CASHIERS CHECK.Associated Bank, N.A. Response

0 stars. These people have frozen my fathers account without any communication. I have power of attorney and they want me to explain withdrawals. WHO ARE YOU. You have much better choices than this bank. I have nothing good to say about them. Example: took out credit card (Elan) thru them several years ago. Never late, never abused. Las! week paid card 2 days late... bam!! $30 penalty!!!! Went on line and found that most credit card companies forgive late fees if you are not abusing the privilege. Just need to contact customer service. What a joke. Customer Service is a misnomer here. Contacted bank via chat and was given the literal shaft. Again I have used to be a perfect customer with this bank. Not any more, Associated!Associated Bank, N.A. Response

Do not bank there. This bank is playing games with your money. Using the promotion coupon I opened account at one of the associate bank Glenview location. The banker of this location opened account for me and explained what should I do to get promotional credit the end of 4 month period. When I called bank 4 month later I was denied this credit due to the fact that I was not qualified. Same happened to my friend. The bank locks your money for certain period of time and do not full-feel their obligations.Review from Rita S

DO NOT BANK HERE **This bank gave me a list of “free ATMS” when select ATMs on the sheet charged fees **Does not honor/falsely advertises bonus promotions **Posts days delayed charges for checks/debit **I used the “bill pay” feature one time and a month later the check never made it to the utility company. I incurred a $55 fee for this transaction and when I contacted Associated Bank about it, all they did was threaten to charge me an extra $35 fee to cancel that check. I opened up a Better Business Bureau complaint in regard to a promotional mailer that’s code they improperly entered at account open. 4 months later I didn’t get my bonus. I have them multiple options to resolve, the final resolution being an apology and explanation for what happened with the mailer. If the banker that created my account improperly entered it, if they chose not to honor it for any reason, etc. I informed them that my husband and I are very seriously and we take mishandling money + information in such a setting seriously. On top of all of this, the agent that dealt with the complaint was disrespectful and had a hard time comprehending everything. The big takeaways from my experience is that this business does not properly handle your paperwork. I wasn’t entered under the correct promotion and they couldn’t even provide me with a copy of the opening disclosure when requested. They also openly falsely advertise. Upon figuring out I was entered under a different promotion than I signed for, I did digging on their website. Promotions for business, checking and IRA accounts were all improperly advertised. They tell you HALF of what you need to know in order to receive a bonus. The other half is shared at your in-person appointment to open the account. It’s a dishonest practice they use to get people through the door. When I brought this up to the banker that dealt with the complaint, he didn’t deny it in any way. I went to open an account and was denied. They took $1525 and it has been two weeks and have not received my money back. I would discourage anyone from using associated bank. I'm sure they are making money with my money and in the meantime I have 0 money for food, gas, rent etc.Associated Bank, N.A. Response

I deposited a check on their mobile deposit category. This was done on friday May 31,2024. It is now Sunday June 2,2024 and I still have no deposit in my account. I unknowingly paid for things on Saturday June 1,2024 thinking my account should have had the funds in my account since the check I deposited is coming from the same bank. I now show being overdraft by the purchases I made. I called and they said there was nothing they could do. This is ridiculous. Why have a mobil deposit available if they can't do the job needed to be done in a timely manor. It shouldn't take any longer than a few hours to do the deposit. Its now been over 36 hours and my funds are still not available.Associated Bank, N.A. Response

I have been making monthly payments for a number of months, it has ALWAYS cleared my account within three business days. Last month I got a payoff quote and sent the check to the same address I have mailed the check to for months. Today I called, as it has been two weeks since they have had the check in their possession and it still has not cleared my account. They told me when I called today that the payoff checks are mailed to a different address AND I needed to call them and tell them how I wanted the funds applied. WHAT? Why is the different address not clearly noted on the web, stating, "The final payment is to be mailed to a different address, than the monthly payments are sent to AND you MUST CALL us and tell us to apply the payment." This is a way for them to make us have to pay more, as the payoff amount is only good for 10 days of the quote. THIS BUSINESS is a joke. Finance a vehicle? DO NOT use Associated Bank, IT IS A SCAM.Associated Bank, N.A. Response

I have autopay on they pull my money a day late, and then reverse the payment. Ive been hit with 2 penalties in 6 months while having autopay on. Site was down for what seemed like an entire month while trying to make a payment. Signed up for paperless statements and haven't seen a statement yet because that part of the user portal is also down. Card info never saves so you have to manually input your bank information every time you want to make and additional statement. Terrible website, will refi asapAssociated Bank, N.A. Response
