Had New Berlin heating come out for annual maintenance on the furnace. Was told that the secondary heat exchanger was going to fail, was not covered under warranty. and that I needed a new furnace at a cost of $8,000. I got a second opinion. Was told that the secondary heat exchanger was covered under warranty for 20 years, which I confirmed on the manufacturer's website. I had that second firm do the annual maintenance and they found the secondary heat exchanger appearing to be almost new. They ran diagnostics and found carbon monoxide level to be 6 parts per million versus a norm of 300 parts per million and over 3,000 parts per million if the secondary heat exchanger was failing. I had been a 30 year customer of New Berlin Heating, but will never do business them again.

Mr. Kisielewski, I'm sorry for what you have been informed on the heat exchanger. To clarify, the technician took pictures of water stains in the bottom of your furnace, which are attributed to the secondary heat exchanger failing, and went over these with you. The technician also documented that the inducer motor is vibrating, indicating a future failure. The inducer would not be in warranty. We will make sure the technician is versed on the secondary heat exchanger warranty. For clarification on CO, the numbers you reference are out of the ordinary. Under 100ppm is acceptable range for exhaust, 200ppm is indication of failure. 6ppm on a furnace that is not brand new is almost impossible to achieve. If the analyzer is not calibrated proper, it can cause false readings. We're happy to send you the invoice and pictures of our service if you need them.

FYI: In this Heat people beware May12, 2022, we called New Berlin Heating and Air, I had someone come out to check my father’s air conditioner that wasn’t working. The service visit cost approximately $90.00. My Son and I were told we needed a brand new air conditioning system, it was completely broken down and they don’t make parts for this style anymore. We were also told we should replace the heating (furnace) as well. The cost starting at $8,000. Starting cost because he went on to say prices change quickly. . The next day we called another company (who we definitely will use and refer to friends and family) they came out and told us we had burnt live wires and we should call him an electrician. This company didn’t charge for the service call because they couldn’t repair live wires. How kind of this company. We called an electrician who came within an hour, fixed wiring and now have a cool house! This Electrician was less than $200.00. Now we have our house cooled off and feel better without going into debt. People have to watch out for the Untrained technicians and those who try to Scam people instead of actually helping them. All this company wanted to do was make a dollar. Absolutely NO concern for the client. Shame on New Berlin Heating and Air!

We were in Arizona when our furnace in Wisconsin went out. Mike from New Berlin Heating came out to repair it and said we needed a new furnace. We made arrangements over the phone for a new furnace at $7518. After thinking it over we decided to get another opinion and another repairman came out the same day, repaired the furnace and said Carrier would cover everything under warranty. It cost us nothing to have it fixed. We couldn't call New Berlin Heating to cancel because of the weekend but called Monday, within 3 days of ordering the new furnace and cancelled the order. Mike said he would be charging us $1500 for fees and permits he had to pull. State offices were closed those three days because of the weekend and MLK Day, so we believe he didn’t pay fees or pull permits. We have been trying to get our $1500 back since January and have had no response from New Berlin Heating.

You disputed the charge of $1500 with your credit card company, that credit card company charged back New Berlin Heating for the funds. If you have not been refunded by your credit card company, you need to take that up with them. Everything you paid towards the new furnace was refunded. The credit card company has had your funds since 3/22/2022.
