I purchased 3 gift certificates (for myself and my 2 daughters) from this business - a nail spa - on December 23, 2021 . I called on June 29, 2022 to make an appointment and use the certificates and noticed that there was an expiration date on the gift card showing it had expired 1 week prior to my call. I mentioned that to the owner of the business and she told me that because they were expired, I would not be able to use them anymore. I managed restaurants and am fully aware of the 2010 ruling by the ************************ that retail businesses (salons/spas included in that category) can not put an expiration date on a gift card/certificate for a period of less than 5 years. When I called back and mentioned this to the owner she stood firm and refused to honor the certificates.I uploaded a copy of one of my certificates and a link to the *** ruling.Business response

According to this customer complain, I could not accept her gift card as its expired. She called me multiple times on different day, calling me name , she used offensive language, even after I explained to her about our company policy that we do not accept expired gift card, it stated very clearly on the gift card that we do not accept the gift card after it expired, also because of our services and prices had been changed over time .Our company have all the gift cards that been sold and it showing very clear that this customer is lying about the fact that she purchased 3 gifts cards from our salon, which is a faux statement , she also left a misleading review on our ****** account with this lie about purchased three gifts cards from our salon. We have all the records and all the gifts cards we have been sold since we opened our salon which is only over a year ago so there are a very few numbers of gifts cards that have been sold, her gift card is the value of $40 and is the only gift card that havent been redeemed, so it clearly that she is lying about the fact the she got given one gift card from someone but lying about that she got three gifts cards from us that we did not accept. She was so demanding over the phone with bad language about that we have to accept the card and that she will come in to get pedicure done and that we will have to do her feet. She called multiple times and kept hanging up on us as she was so upset.Thank you very much for your concern and please give my reply to her consideration.Have a great evening !********************* ( Owner/ Manager )Perfect Nails Spa
