In April of 2022 I ordered a Ram 3500 for the agreed upon price of $78961 and I have the paperwork to prove it. 6 months later when the truck was delivered to the dealership the sales manager decided to claim that the price I actually agreed on was $78961 plus an additional $1,000, which is a pure fabrication. They then added on an additional $400+ cost "from the factory" and a $500 doc fee. From start to finish the sales manager Greg ***** showed a pattern of disrespect and condescension. I simply want to pay the agreed upon price of $78961 for the truck which is reflected on the paperwork.Business response

In response to the above concern. On April 18, 2022, the customer came to our dealership and ordered a Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab. The customer was given a ********** ********** configuration document. He placed a $1000 deposit on this Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab. The $1000 deposit is a requirement by ********** ********** to prove the dealership has a sold order and that deposit goes against the cost of the vehicle.
This ********** ********** configuration document clearly states the order is an estimate of cost and verifies equipment requested by the customer. There is a note at the bottom of this document that states the following, "NOTE: This is not an invoice. The prices and equipment shown on this priced order confirmation are tentative and subject to change or correction without prior notice. No claims against the content listed or prices quoted will be accepted. Refer to the vehicle invoice for final vehicle content and pricing. Orders are accepted only when the vehicle is shipped by the factory."
The document is a price guideline estimate and not a final invoice. It is used to determine the optional equipment the customer wants to put on the vehicle.
The salesperson and the ordering specialist both advised the customer that the vehicle would be price protected and sold at $1000 over true invoice plus taxes, licensing and registration and fees. The actual invoice varied from the estimate by $401.00.
We submit there was no price discrepancy. The price of the vehicle was $1000 over invoice.
Furthermore, after the deal was made, the customer came into the dealership and introduced a vehicle he wanted to trade in. The customer did not accept the amount offered by the dealership for the trade vehicle.
In conclusion, the customer apparently misunderstood our pricing policy, and he would not accept the amount offered for the trade in vehicle. The customer made the decision to leave the dealership without purchasing the Ram 3500 Laramie Crew Cab.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
First of all, up until September 29th of 2022, when I drove to the dealership to purchase the truck- I had communicated with one person and one person only- John ****** There was no "ordering specialist", unless that person is the same as a sales person- which in the business response it is indicated that I spoke to two people. Second- there was no agreement that the truck would be sold for "$1,000 over the invoice price" and calling that a "misunderstanding" is very dismissive and misleading of the business. I suspect they are okay in naming it a "misunderstanding" as they are the party who stood to gain a significant advantage over selling this vehicle to someone else. Well I would like to make it clear that it was not a "misunderstanding", it was an outright lie. At the time of ordering, the salesperson (John *****) pointed directly to the paper and assured me that was the price I would pay. If that was not the price I was going to pay, and what we agreed on was actually $1,000 more than that price, surely that would've been reflected both verbally and in writing on the paper I was given. There is no reason for it not to have been. Had it been a simple $400 factory increase, I wouldn't have bothered making a fuss about it- even with the arrogant and dishonest behavior of the sales manager (Greg ******. So to be clear, I do not accept this response. The sales manager displayed a consistent pattern of dishonesty and that is reflected in the business response from the owner.
Regards,
