The service department continued to fail me on proper repairs for my vehicle under my extended warranty that I paid for. Now I am stuck with mom problems than I started with, resulting from damage happening while my car was in their care for 4 months. And I am left to foot major bills for repair that could have been properly addressed under my warranty. I'm now seeking legal counsel.

I financed a 2019 Ford ranger from Ramey Ford in May, 2022. -On May 2, 2023 I took the truck to a local garage for inspection. I was notified that it would require fender flares to pass inspection -Note I bought the truck in the exact condition it is in (tires, lift kit were on the truck when I purchased it) - On May 11, I contacted Ramey Ford and explained the situation. At that time, Ramey apologized and said they would install the fender flares and "legalize" the truck asap. Ramey requested that I bring the truck down (I live in Charleston about 2 hours away from Rameys) on either May 15 or May 16. -I dropped the truck off at Rameys on May 15. On May 16, Rameys called me and informed me they would order the needed fender flares and notify me when they come in. I explained to Rameys that I live 2 hours away and was under the impression they would be installing the fender flares on this visit. I told Ramey's I could not afford to miss more work or the expense of bringing the truck down. At that time, Rameys told me they would come and get the truck in Charleston and would leave me with a vehicle until they could return the truck. Rameys then told me they would call me when the flares were in. - On May 25 I called Ramey Ford to ask for an update on the flares. After a run around, Ramey informed me they would be picking the flares up on 5/26 and I could bring the truck down 5/30 or any day after and they would install the flares. I again reminded Ramey that I live 2 hours away and could not afford to miss more work or the expense of the drive there and back/wear and tear on the vehicle. I also told Ramey that they told me they would come and get the vehicle and leave me with a loaner until my vehicle was returned. Ramey told me they did not have a loaner available any longer and I am welcome to drop it off Tuesday 5/30 or anytime after. - Later on 5/25, I called and spoke with someone else, stating my frustration. The person I spoke to assured me someone would reach out to me on 5/26 and they would ensure someone would come get my vehicle and leave me a loaner. - Around 1pm on 5/26 I called Ramey as I had not received a promised phone call. I spoke to Steve ******** and he informed me someone would come get my truck on 6/6 and leave me a loaner to drive until my truck was returned. I told Mr. ******** that my inspection ran out at the end of May and he completely disregarded this and said they would pick the truck up on 6/6 and then return it 6/7. I am outraged at the lack of understanding and willingness to correct THEIR error and now I need to drive a vehicle that Rameys sold me illegally, illegally for a week hoping that the cops do not pull me over for past due inspection.

      To whom it may concern,

Regarding Taryn ******** 2019 Ford Ranger. When I spoke to Ms. ****** on the phone I told her that we could not put a State Inspection sticker on her vehicle until we installed the fender flairs and had checked the suspension. We sent 2 DX drivers to pick up her Ranger. We installed fender flairs and performed a State Inspection at no cost to Ms. ******. Then returned her vehicle the next day. We did all of this in good faith because he do not have record of this vehicle being modified when it was sold. We have no problem every time Ms. ****** needs a new State Inspection to go and pick up her vehicle and take it back to her.

I purchased a 2018 truck from Ramey Preowned. I was given a price that they offered for my trade-in and was told they were discounting the truck I purchased as well. They also told me the truck had a good *** *** report. I know this salesman well and had no reason to question what he told me about the truck. After the purchase, I took the paperwork home and looked it over closer because the amount and the payments didn't seem right. They had given me the correct amount for my trade but did not discount the truck I purchased. I then found out (with a *** ***) this vehicle has been in an accident with both front and rear damage. The salesman was off work the next day, but I did speak to him on the phone, and he told me to come back the following morning and he and his manager would be there. When I went in the office, I explained that I am unhappy with the purchase, and I am very upset that I was lied to about the purchase price, and the fact that this vehicle has been wrecked. The salesman then lied once again and said that he never told me it had a clean *** ***, and they don't even look at the *** *** on the vehicles. (I know this isn't true because my wife and I purchased her vehicle through them 2 years ago and they gave us a copy of the *** ***.) I told them that I want my truck back and we would cancel this trade. The manager would not even speak with me about selling me a previously wrecked vehicle. He just walked by me. The salesman said the manager told him that "A deal's a deal." They will no longer speak with me in person or accept my phone calls. I have spoken with an attorney and was told to start by filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Then to contact the State Attorney General's office. I tried to fix this in person. All I wanted was to cancel this purchase and get my trade in back. Instead, they refused to talk to me about this but was still trying to lie about the wrecked vehicle they sold me.

I am sorry to hear Mr. ****** is upset with his purchase however I was assured by the salesperson ***** ****** and the Finance Manager *** ****** that the Mr. ****** was aware of the *** *** history on the vehicle. And as far as selling price and trade we took the offer Mr. ****** ask for. ***** ****** also mentioned I have also known the gentleman for many years constantly giving him  and his family discounts and advice on vehicle purchases when he purchased this truck I had management involved the whole time back in fourth with the customer approximately seven hours and two test drives later he came back and told me and management he couldn’t believe the deal was getting saying this numerous times then proceeded to purchase.

On September 29, 2021, I had an appointment for the rear tires to be replaced on my F350 dually. I chose Ramey Ford to do this work because I assumed, as a dealership, it would be set up to work on larger vehicles and have trained technicians to complete the work. The tires were replaced and some unrelated warranty work was also completed. During the tire replacement both rear rims were damaged. This was brought to the attention of the service advisor, and she brought out a technician to take a look. This was not the technician that worked on the truck but is an experienced technician. They both acknowledged the damage, the technician took photos, and agreed that this damage should not have occurred, and expressed that Ramey would make it right. I was told to bring the truck back in and a third party that does work on rims would be selected to do the work. After approximately a week, I needed the truck so I had to return and pick it up. I was assured that someone from Ramey would call me and schedule an appointment to get the rims repaired. From there, communication got significantly worse. When I called, I was told there was no one that could work on the rims but they would keep trying to find someone. Eventually I was told it was given to the Service Manager (SM) to review and he would call me back. I tried many times to contact the SM and never received a return call. I tried different days, times of day, stopped by in person and the SM chose to not deal with me. My husband stopped in one afternoon close to closing time and was able to see the SM. The SM first stated that the clear coat was coming off the rims and that was the problem. After further reviewing with my husband he saw there was actual damage to the rims but stated that Ramey did nothing to the rims. He was very rude and dismissive. I would expect much better service and communication from the management of a Ford dealership. All I want is for the rims to be repaired or replaced.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This does not resolve my issue. The rims were dented when they did the work and the technician admitted to that. This is not about the clear coat. That’s exactly what the manager tried to pass it off as earlier. Ramey originally said they would have some people look at the wheels to see if they could repair them. Then they just quit responding to me or answering any questions and the manager told me this about the clear coat. I told him no, that’s not my complaint, that it has nothing to do with clear coat coming off but about the dents his guys put in my wheels.

      Regards,
