Was told by the company that they could fix our front porch because it was tilting down and towards the driveway. And that the cracks would be sealed together and the porch is still sinking down even after they came and down the project. I booked this company in May 2022 and in July 2022. The problem had gotten much worse. I made multiple attempts to contact the company to get them to come back out and look at our porch again. The salesman would only talk to me on the phone and I sent him pictures and he again reassured me they could fix it but the project was still not done until October.

      Additional information:

I would like to add further information to the complaint that I have filed against Alford Home Solutions. We first spoke with this company through a home consultation on May 27, 2022. He gave us an estimate of 18,433.80 in order to fix our front porch that was sloping down hill and worse in the center and toward our driveway. We expressed our concerns that maybe the whole porch foundation/floor needed to be rebuilt but he reassured us that there process would work for us. He said that if we had the whole porch redone it would be 40,000 and that they could fix it for half that. Andy told us this process would lift our porch back up and fill in the cracks and they would remotar the broken areas.

He gave us a plan of putting in 9 helical piers 8 across the front and one one the side facing the driveway. However when he drew up our plans he only included 8 but the salesman Andy reassured us that would be no problem that if the 9 pier was needed we had plenty of money in the budget (we financed through them) and it could be added at the last minute during the project if it was needed. We never heard from the company when our project was taking place but any did say it would be in the fall.

In July we started to see significant changes. We spoke to Andy on July 14 and asked him to come back out and look at our project again because we were having doubt the method would fix our problem and he would not come back out but told us to send pictures which we did and I have proof of all the text messages that occurred between Andy and myself. I was again reassured that Andy had no doubts this would fix our problems. Well our project never got moved up and the situation continues to get worse and I sent Andy pictures all along to keep him updated on our situation. October 18 came and the project started and when they first done the lift you could tell no difference in the drop at all and the second time there was a slight notice but we were told that was all they could do.

We asked about the 9 pier and they had no clue what we were talking about but they went back to someone in the office and we were told that would not make the lift any better. So when they got done with the project on 30th we were left with huge crack in our brick that did not get pushed back together as the sales pitch said they didn't motar back the cracks as the sales pitch side and after the project we had way more cracks than before. Our porch steps are now out of level and no longer attached to the house.

They left our yard in a mess. We did work with Tim at the company and he told us he would send someone out to fix the brick and the yard which he did send someone but all that person done was motar up the huge crack the bricks were never pushed back together as promised. And we still have a front porch that slopes down and towards the driveway. And of course now we have to pay to have the flower beds put back that they dug up to do the repair and which we not be back if we had gotten the level porch we were promised.

      Mrs. ******

I am responding in regards to your BBB complaint above. First I want to start by saying we are sorry you are unhappy with the final of our work. As stated in your contract, under limited warranty, foundation piers, "contractor does not warrant to lift, to close cracks, or to move walls back to their original position, but will do it's best to achieve positive results in this regard." This contract was signed by you acknowledging your understanding. We stand behind our warranty and will guaranteed stabilization which is what our crew was able to do.

Also stated in our contract where you signed in the job details section, we would not be responsible for replacement of landscaping.

Your photos are not a true reflection of the most recent work where we have gone back and tuckpointed the brick.

Again, we are sorry you are dissatisfied with the final result, all was indicated in your contract and we will continue to annually monitor and benchmark that the stabilization stays the same if you so chose to do with us.

      Thank you,

      Alford home Solutions

In December 2020 Alford Home Solutions (AHS) completed mold remediation and drain installation at my home located at the above address. We were told this nearly $30k job would keep water from entering our home as it had been previously and causing extensive damage. However, every time it rains my attached garage (where drain is located) and basement continue to flood to the point that mold has returned to some of the walls despite my efforts to keep the area dry and shop vac the water as it enters (usually too much to keep up with). I have reached out to them numerous times as I was told this "would solve [my] problem" and that I would no longer have water coming in to my home and was told I needed to have someone look at my exterior drain - which I told them from the start was an issue as it did not properly drain water. They offered to come out and give me an estimate for them to repair/replace said drain. That was what they were hired to do from the start. After spending nearly $30k to have this problem corrected not only is it NOT corrected but now I am out $30k that I did NOT have and still have to pay someone to come out and fix what they SHOULD HAVE done from the start. I am a single mom and my 80 year mother also lives in the home we do not have the financial means to pay out another $15k (as that was estimates we were given by other companies) to fix this. We also did other renovations to the area they "fixed" and will now have to tear out everything and replace it all once again to keep the mold from spreading and becoming a health hazard. In addition to attached pictures I have video of the water inside the area. I feel they took advantage of our need for the repair and did what they wanted and then tried to get more money by "offering" another free estimate for the work I suggest they do from the start.

      Dear Mrs. ******,

Below I have copied line item 2 in paragraph 4, under the “Limited Warranty” Section of your fully executed contract.
“Items for which customer is responsible… 5) Maintain positive drainage away from the repaired wall(s); 6) Keep gutters clean and in good working order; 7) direct downspouts a sufficient distance away from the repaired wall(s)…”

Our Solution Specialist explained this to you as well as our Service Manager. We came back there as a courtesy to clean the drain that was neglected and to remind you that you are to keep it cleaned out. It seems that you still are not doing so.
