On September 13, 2023, our 2008 Yukon XL stalled and was towed to Wamsutter Conoco Service, which is a NAPA Auto Care Center. They did not look at our vehicle that day. They did not look at our vehicle on September 14, 2023 either. On September 15, 2023, they told us the crankshaft positioning sensor was bad but that they would not be able to get and install the part until September 18, 2023. So we drove our motorcycle to Rock Springs, WY (68 miles away) and bought the part from a NAPA Auto store. We then stood outside their shop for 6 hours to ensure that they would replace the part. Not only did they not replace the crankshaft positioning sensor, they broke the camshaft position sensor. While trying to remove the broken camshaft positioning sensor, they bent the camshaft phaser, then drilled a hole in it to pull the dent out. This left metal shavings in the motor. On September 16, 2023, they still could not get the Yukon to stay running. It would start then die. When they did get the motor to turn over, they revved the motor so high that it sounded like it was going to blow up. At that point we told them to push it out of the bay and had to make arrangements to have the Yukon towed back to Colorado to have our mechanic look at it. Our mechanic found a broken piece of the camshaft positioning sensor still in the motor, as well as the camshaft phaser with the hole in it. Since then, the Yukon constantly has the engine light come on and does not run right. All of this was on top of that fact that when the Yukon stalled, we were on our honeymoon and had just left that day.
