    I was the seller of a home and Andy was doing an inspection. As normal they run appliances to ensure they work. What Andy did not do is check what was inside my dishwasher (a bottle of soap was in there, wife cleaned the counter and put some things in there) Dishwasher goes on and soap spills out after sometime as i am sure he was attending to other things in the house. Long story short he opened it so the water and soap would come out all over the floor. Now the buyers didnt close and i am left to handle the repairs on my dime. When I sent email to the owner Shawn I expected an apology, not finger point and passing blame. This is not the right way to handle complaints whatsover. 

    The Inspector Response

    Hello *****, The inspection was conducted on November 21, and did not hear from you until November 30th. We did respond to your original email with a detailed description of what occurred during the home inspection and the process the inspector followed. We also followed up with an email which included an apology for the incident. Andy, the inspector also called to ask how we could remedy this situation for you. Your response was that you wanted to wait to hear from the realtors / brokers involved. The dish washer incident had nothing to do with the sale of your home not going through. We were told that the buyers were not comfortable with the polybutylene piping, which is a common pipe for the year your home was built and can be expensive for insurance. We are still waiting to hear from you following up on your phone call with Andy, the inspector to come to a solution for this unfortunate incident.I will also add that the representative from the BBB also agreed that this review should not be posted as this complaint was not a consumer of ours, no monetary exchange, no agreement to conduct business and no knowledge of who the owner of the home was. We have been a member of BBB with a A+ standing since 2017!
