I believe Household Plumbing should stick to their customer plumbing needs and forget about sales in bathroom products.
I unfortunately had a experience where I purchased a shower door and side panel. When I ordered I knew that I needed a glass panel that is 36' long and I received one that is 31 1/2' . I made sure when I purchased that I mentioned the actual glass needs to be 36' and I was never told that Maxx carries 36' panels fit a 36' base. the glass is only 31 1/2' . If I was told that I would not of been purchased it I needed at 36' full glass panel.
I had many other contractors in to see how we can fit the panel and not one could do it and not one could understand why it's only 31 1/2 inches and on my receipt it's says 36' panel.

I went to ********** as they have the same door and asked questions and it was funny how the staff at ********** now more about their products and guided their customer the right way.
The sales LADY said to me I mention this to everyone who is interested in this door the 36' return panel
Only measures to 31 1/2 '. This is a ********** staff giving me the right information.

If I went into Household Plumbing and asked for this door and side panel of the sales person said to me your ordering a 36' panel but the actual panel measures 31 1/2 ' I would have not purchased it.

Took the items back to HOUSEHOLD PLUMBING and they held 25% fee and delivery fee.
So sad they couldn't understand that I am frustrated for their miscommunication to me. Let the customer know it's actually a 31 1/2' glass when I'm looking for a 36'.
I forgot to mention even the manager ***** needed to call Maxx to verify that 31 1/2 is the correct 36' panel.

If you need any washroom products go to somewhere who knows there stuff.
Leave the plumbing experts to themselves and stick to plumbing.

I'm looking for my 25% charge back as this was their miscommunication not mine.

    No understanding at all !

We have been dealing with ****** ******* regarding this shower door for the past 4-6 weeks.. When she came into our store on Nov24/21 she requested to order a 60" shower door with a 36" return panel. This is a common size door that fits a 60"x36" shower base. The door itself is sized to fit on the middle of the threshold of the base, it is not the same size as the base, as this would actually make the door bigger than the base once the base has been installed and cement board and walls (tile or acrylic or marble) is then put over the tiling flange of the base. BOTH the return panel and the shower door section are SMALLER than the base size they are made to go on. What has actually happened is that her contractor has made her base too large and doors that are manufactured by *******, ****, *******, ******* or any other manufacturer that we are aware of will not fit the size of the custom base that her contractor made. I am surprised that the professional contractor she hired did not check into what size the finished base should be made to fit a 60"x36" standard manufactured door prior to making the base. ****** called shortly after taking the door home and this was explained to her as she informed us of the actual size of her base. She was told not to open the boxes and to return the shower door, restocking would still have been charged at this point. She informed our staff member that her contractor thought he could make the door work and went ahead and opened the return panel. She has obviously found out that we were correct in informing her that the door would not fit the base that she had custom made. She has since called asking us what she could do to get a door that would fit. She was told that no manufactured doors that we are aware of would fit the size base her contractor made but she could possibly have a custom size return panel made and we gave her the name of a glass company that we regularly use. She went ahead and had ***************** give her a price for a custom panel as well as a price for a full custom door. She suggested to me that because of the size of the base that her contractor made she was going to have a custom door made.
As far as her going to ********** after the fact that she found out that her contractor did not make her custom base to fit a manufactured 60" door with a 36" return, at this point is irrelevant. If she had informed us what size her custom base actually was prior to ordering the door, we would have been able to give her the same information as the lady at **********. I can forward several pictures of manufactured bases and the doors that fit on these bases if you need to see them. Unfortunately, when customers request a standard size door we would have no way of knowing that they were having a custom base made that would end up not fitting the doors that they ordered. I have spoken to the salesman that ordered the door for *********** and he said that at no time was it mentioned that the return panel glass itself had to be 36" in length. Even her contractor argued with us that the door size she purchased should fit the base he made.
You can see on our invoices, it is clearly stated that a 25% restocking fee plus shipping will be applied to any special orders returned unless the product is defective. This restocking fee is what the manufacturers charge us. I did tell ****** that even though they had opened the return panel that we would still take the door back because of the position they were in because the base that they had made was too big, (there's nothing wrong with the door or the size of the door). I charged the standard restocking fee, NO SHIPPING and took the door back even though the 36" return panel box has been opened and is now held together with duct tape. I have yet to find out if the manufacturer will even let us return the door as it has been opened. If they do let us return it they will charge us the restocking as well as shipping and for repackaging and a new box so that the door can be resold. Please be aware that this is not something we have any control over and this is why it is printed on the invoices.
