I am in a Credit Counselling program and have been for about 3 years to pay off $30000+ debt. It has been progressing perfectly, including a debt owed to ******* This company, along with others before it, have ********** me and they keep upping the amount I apparently owe to ******. However, ****** has agreed to accept the amount owed and being paid thru Credit Counselling. I have confirmed the amount with ****** and they advise they have only the debt I am re-paying thru Credit Counselling. And yet I continue to receive letters monthly from Credit Recovery offering to accept almost $1100 of debt (50% reduction) if I will pay them before a due date. My account number with them is ********. I currently have my $30000+ debt down to about $2400. How do I get this company off my back?

I've received countless emails and phone calls requesting a small amount of money (under $38) for a creditor which was paid in full 3 years ago and no longer have an open account with. Upon sending them a photo copy of my bank account proving the payment was sent in 2020, they proceeded to tell me the original creditor claims they never received the payment and then claim I had a second account with the same creditor for over $6000. Upon checking with the original creditor, my account with them was paid in full in 2020 and I had no outstanding debts with them. As a result, this credit recovery place has reported on my credit rating a derogatory remark of collections, lowering my credit score. I would like this resolved, the derogatory comment of collection removed and my credit rating restored as well as this credit recovery company to stop emailing or phoning me for a debt that does not exist.
