Date of the issue: June 12, 2022 Problem: Ate at their Amelia Restaurant and 5 hours later had severe diarrhea multiple times as well as volcanic vomiting. Both would indicate food poisoning of some sort. I had eaten a well cooked hamburger and a salad with spinach,squash, cranberries. During the episodes of voiding my stomach contents I tried to phone the reception numbers given to me for the front desk and could reach no one. I was running out of toilet paper due to the many times I had diarrhea . And I was very helpless to go anywhere. No one answered. Finally in the morning, about 7 am I was able to reach security,who I later learned should have responded to my first call due the routing of all the reception phones to security. He did bring me toilet paper. I spoke to the reception staff and was told I had to contact ******** *******  I did call her after I checked out as she was unavailable before that. She was hesitant to believe this happened due to their food in the restaurant. She continuously told me that it could have happened elsewhere. I repeatedly advised her I had not eaten much during the day and that this explosive and serious episode happened, again, about 5 hours after supper. I am 73 years old. There is no way I felt safe during the episode as I could contact no one a night. The problem begain around 11:30 pm. I called after that when I could manage a few minutes from being sick. The place was dead and seemed vacant. They insisted I should have dialed 0 which on my info sheet was the restaurant. I did in morning* ******** ****** has called me since I returned home to say she is still trying to contact the owners. It has been over a week. I asked for two things: one that my meal payment be refunded. Two that they make certain the chef knew someone had gotten so ill. Again she had trouble believing it happened there. It is well known that some greens like spinach can be contaminated with bacteria.
