I've been a customer for 20+ years even before Simplii existed. I deposited a large certified lawyers cheque, and they won't release it to me for 5-8 business days. I am a customer of Simplii Financial as I previously was transferred from a ********** ****** account as they were merging all their customers to Simplii many years ago. I originally opened it for a chequing account service and RRSP. I later accepted a small limit ****. I decided this past year to pay the **** off and close it in May 2024. An outside business accidentally made 2 refunds to this ****. When I spoke to the business they shared I must rectify with bank (Simplii). I called Simplii twice on June 11th both Simplii Advisors shared they couldn't transfer over the payment to my chequing account because the **** was non active however would process a cheque that would take 5 business day to process and then 5 for ****** **** regular mail delivery. I was not thrilled by accepted the process. June 18 2024 I see the amount of money still sitting in my account and I am unable to use. I call Simplii Financial the Simplii Advisor now tells me it will take 60 business days to return the money by money order through regular mail !!!?!! Who can afford to have 2000 held these days! I shared with the Advisor this is terrible customer service and business action! She then proceeds to open a complaint case and shares well it may not take the full 60 days.. This is crazy! I am an existing long time customer Simplii there is no reason the money couldn't be sent to my Simplii chequing account they are both with Simplii! 60 business days is ridiculous ** ***** ********* ***** for refund!Simplii Financial Response

I deposited my funds in a TFSA for 3 months and applied to transfer my funds after 3 months. But the bank closed my account. Without even asking me. The bank is supposed to pay me promotional interest, but I think they deliberately acted in such an unconventional way to avoid paying me that. I called customer service to complain, but they confused me with the ridiculous reason that the account would be automatically closed as soon as the funds were transferred. What kind of bank closes a customer's account without the customer's request? I don't understand and I can't accept it. The promotional interest for 3 months is a lot of money, about $2,000. ***** **** *** **** ****** **** **** ***** I have been with this bank for a little over 20 years, I put in a money order via e-deposit and it’s been 4 days now, I’m told the cheque will be released tomorrow. I initially chatted with an agent who told me I had to call in which I did, all to be told an exception to release funds couldn’t be made cause they look at specific criteria to release funds- the agent couldn’t give me specific criteria on what was being looked at. I don’t write back cheques, I don’t have delinquent payments go through (with the exception of twice which wasn’t any fault of mine), I have my pay cheque deposited in this account, thankfully I don’t place my business income in this account. I am definitely moving all my business away from this bank. * **** ****** *********** **** ** ***** *****. I just tried to use the global money transfer. The form simplii uses auto formats the ABA number. This created a huge problem for me. I placed ** in the bank name and it auto populated the ABA number. The intended bank name was ** ******** ********** which I found out later. As this transfer was to a personal account in the US I thought ** would work as this s how the form seemed to work. This has resulted in multiple calls no idea when the funds will be returned in my account. Simplii gave me multiple conflicting dates and no options for how to get this money to a US citizen to complete a sale. ********* *** ********* ****** * **** ****** *** **** I asked if this process was repeated can they guarantee the man would get his cash. My and my wife's joint Simplii Financial account was hacked on Oct 25, 2023. Hackers managed to add 2 contacts and transferred $1,207.50 two times using Interac E-Transfer. On December 1st Simplii Financial fraud department called my wife ***** *************** and told her that we are not getting our money back without providing any evidence. After that our case was escalated to Simplii's Customer Care which after 2 weeks informed us that we are not gonna be reimbursed again without providing any evidence. There were no viruses on our computers, and we never clicked on any phishing / spam links. *****'s phone on October 25th never received any push notifications nor SMS messages which indicates that they were intercepted by hackers and used by their unregistered devices to get into *****’s Simplii app or portal, therefore it's Simplii's fault that *****'s account got hacked. Simplii’s Legal Digital Banking Guarantee that Simplii does not uphold says : Your money, our promise It’s simple: if you’ve been a victim of fraud, and you’ve met all of your responsibilities, we promise to return 100% of the money you’ve lost from your Simplii accounts. ****************Simplii Financial Response

Terrible banking experience, customer service is a joke and very unorganized. It took me 18 months to finally get discharge paperwork from mortgage, spent many hours on hold only to have to explain my situation to multiple reps, lost paperwork even my lawyer had a difficult time getting anything from them. When everything was finally done I get a random call to apologize about the service, but after what I was put through it didn't matter.
