            I am writing because my husband and I purchased a 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T from Serra Nissan in ****************. After getting the vehicle, it was told to a finance worker and another party and that the brakes did not feel sufficient in the vehicle. Nevertheless, the vehicle was brought home. My husband was driving the vehicle on the freeway and the brakes went completely out. The brakes were supposedly fixed but then after picking up the vehicle, the emergency brakes were non-operable. At this point my husband and I decided that we were done with the vehicle but told we would only get a little over $1800 because of the minor damage on the car which resulted from the brake system failing twice. Today, my husband was driving the vehicle again and the brake caliper was not secured on the vehicle to which it resulted in having to buy another rim because it caused a flat. In the time of having this vehicle, we have spent money paying for tows and buying tires which should not even be the case when getting a car off of a lot. This dealership did not do its do diligence in making sure this car was even safe to be back on the road.

            The worst dealership. My husband and I went to buy a car after some back and forth we agreed to give them their asking price, they came back and said we had to pay a $2,000.00 warranty and I told them we dont want it. The manager then came up saying h*** do the deal but we have to finance through them, which wasnt going to happen as we were already approved through ****. I told him no and he said its the only way to get the internet pricing when I asked him what the price of the car was he couldnt really tell me just that he was taking a $2,000 loss(which was supposedly the warranty. Another lie) When I asked him why do we have to finance it through them he said because they get money from it to which I replied oh so youre getting a kickback he immediately said yes then I proceeded to tell him thats illegal and he changed his story real quick and wanted us to leave. He also kept trying to convince me that we could refinance whenever we want which is not true. Over all he was very rude. If you dont want to sell your vehicles for what you list them for then price them at the number you really want and stop lying about upgrades and warranties

            At Serra Automotive, we care about our customers and the vehicles we sell to them. The warranties that the customer is speaking of are on products already applied to the vehicle before the point of sale. These items are included in the asking price and cannot be removed. Lenders compete for dealership business and often pay the dealership a reserve for financing with them. This is not illegal, nor immoral. It also allows dealerships leeway to negotiate the asking price with the purchasing customer. A customer is free to re-finance at any time with any financial institution that they choose and as their credit allows.
