My wife had a minor surgical procedure to remove a cyst from her mouth. Overall it was positive. However, there is one aspect of it that left a bad taste in our mouths that led to our leaving this review for others. This practice was very up-front about the estimated cost of the procedure, and provided my wife with an estimate of roughly $500 during a consultation weeks prior to scheduling her surgery. On the morning of the procedure, my wife signed a consent form to have the tissue that was removed from her mouth tested. Neither of us thought a thing about it. Most importantly, the procedure went well and everything was fine. We paid the $500 bill gladly.Weeks later, we received a bill from ***************. The lab is a separate entity from ********** Surgery Associates. The bill was $660 - more than the cost of the procedure itself (?!?). We each called and spoke with a representative of ********** SA, who listened to our complaint, but said that they had fully disclosed everything in the consent form my wife signed, and that as a separate entity, they had no knowledge or ability to estimate what *************** may cost. Fair enough, we signed the consent form and the small print says everything they referenced. I'm sharing our experience because I felt it was a bit disingenuous of ********** SA to be so upfront about the cost estimate on their end, only to have a greater expense bite us on the back end. Their initial cost estimate was provided weeks in advance, was fair and accurate... exactly the opposite of the "blank-check" consent form we signed on the mourning of the procedure itself. They repeatedly made the distinction of there being two separate business entities, which is true, but is little consolation after the fact. Especially when they're guiding the patient along on this process and in theory are considering the entirety of the patient's experience who come through their doors. **********************
