This company makes fraudulent claims and tries to extort money for materials and work that was not done.

Dolan Restoration and Construction Inc. Response

    03/17/2023

We were unhappy with a portion of the construction on the trim and woodwork, and agreed with you that it was unsatisfactory. We are not perfect but certainly corrected the issue as soon as you would allow us. We did not, and would not *********** more for our mistake. We understand that the insurance process can be confusing. Maybe your insurance adjuster or insurance agent can help clear up any misunderstanding so you don't have to take our word for it? The only money we are requesting from you is for the roof replacement itself and the approved-on-site change order for additional wood. The ******************************** found no merit in your claim against us and dismissed it after inspecting your property in person. We are an honest company and would love to resolve this respectfully.

As I said in a text to **** Dolan, I am willing to pay the balance of $377.82 according to your statement of 2/3/2023, which was sent to me after the work was completed. The final statement you sent me was very vague and did not specify what the "supplemental" charges were for, so I could only assume that you had charged me for the corrections. On that final invoice, you charged me $11.82 for "living room repairs". You did not do any work in my living room. I was in touch with my insurance adjuster who sent me a letter saying that you put in a claim for paint and exterior screens, also which you did not replace. The statement of 2/3/2023 for $9,857.61 specifically listed all the materials that were used. I already paid you $9,479.79, so my balance should be $377.82 according to your statement of 2/3/2023.

By the way, I never approved any order for additional wood and, as far as I can see, you used very little wood. I'm not even going to go into the issue about the vent that you claimed had to be installed for over $600 and that the insurance agent had never heard of. Originally, you promised that you would work with my HOA, but I found out that they had never heard of you and I had to fill out the architectural application myself. You kept sending me all kinds of different bills with false charges. This has caused me a huge amount of aggravation and distress resulting in gastritis and a stomach ulcer for which I was hospitalized in December. As far as the corrections you made, they were the result of shoddy workmanship, which I had to bring to your attention. Because of this, I have no confidence that your roof will hold up and seeing as how others had to fight to get you to honor your warranty, I have no confidence that you will stand by your work. Calling yourselves 'honest' is just another one of your lies. I am offering you $377.82 just to end this, which has been going on since you gave me your initial estimate of $8,336.55 on November 18, 2022. I received a quote from a different roofing company, which specified the types of wood and their costs, for $9,025.00. Despite my repeated requests, I never got that from you, and believe that you used the cheapest wood possible. The only plywood you replaced appears to be one sheet over the front doorway. When you came with the inspector from the **** you never got on a ladder to inspect the flashing of the duct that was leaking, and, to top it off, you neglected to put back the board at the entrance to the attic, which caused all my heat to escape. You didn't come to put it back until many hours later, by which time, I had already purchased a ladder and done it myself, which was no easy task since I have degenerative osteoarthritis.
