For starters **** Apartments is NOT a BBB accredited company. Taking that into account, this will put the experience I had at ************** into context. The first year I lived there, when ****** was the manager, I enjoyed living there, as the amenities are nice, and she was friendly and honest. Then ****** became the manager. We upgraded apartments and moved to a 2 bedroom apartment.Mind you that before moving, someone from the building inspected our apartment to establish its condition. He said everything was fine, and only the carpet would need to be replaced. Six weeks after moving I suddenly received an outrageous statement of $11,500!!! Stating that the entire apartment needed to be renovated!!! Would the person who inspected the apartment BEFORE We moved not have noticed if the apartment needed a FULL renovation??!! Of course he would have!!! It wouldn't even cost $11,500 to renovate a 1 bedroom apartment in that building. How can this be legal?!! Since they're not BBB accredited they're able to do shady things like this. I'm a single mom, and unfortunately considered to be an easy target for dishonest landlords. l've heard from other tenants and previous tenants at **** apartments that they tried to extort money out of them, interestingly enough, all vulnerable people. One of them a 94 year old man with dementia, another tenant was a disabled veteran, the list goes ***** make the situation even more absurd, one of the employees at ************** is telling tenants that bags of marihuana were found at my old apartment. This is ridiculous and NOT true. I do not smoke!! Even if it were true, it's a lawsuit in itself to tell a tenant's business to other tenants. I wish to break my lease ASAP as I no longer wish to live here,I don't want to give anymore money to these crooks.I'm planning on filing a lawsuit because I don't wish this kind of treatment upon anyone.
