How can an award winning paper have such an incompetent billing department??? For some reason the Los Angeles Times carrier that delivered the paper to our home suddenly did not feel safe delivering the paper in the early hours,The Los Angeles Times NEVER contacted me to inform me that I would no longer be receiving the paper delivered to us, After about four day of no paper I called to ask what the problems was. This was when we first discovered the carrier was no longer going to deliver the paper. The Los Angeles Times gave us no other options, so we paid what was owed in March. Then 3 months later we receive a bill from them for the paper subscription. I sent and email regarding the problem and they apologized,Then! In July we received another bill for $4.28 for current plan charges!! I just don't understand how they run their billing department??Their statements never show the balance and payments posted.Their statements never show credits for papers not delivered. All other business that send customers statements for services they provide are constantly improving their statements for their customers to clearly show simple accounting principles. I love having the paper in my hands to read and enjoy the sports section or current topics in our country! For some reason the Los Angels Times subscription department has forgotten simple basic customer service.

    Los Angeles Times Response

    07/29/2024

Thank you for contacting the Los Angeles Times. We are sorry to hear that we failed to communicate that service was no longer available in your area due to safety reasons. Please accept our sincerest apology for any inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your feedback on our billing statements. Rest assured that the Department concerned has received them. Our records indicate that you paid your final bill of $51.00 on March 21, 2024, and no other bills have been generated for the subscription associated with the Hawaiian Gardens address. However, we were able to locate a different print subscription associated with a ********, **, address that was started in April of 2024. Further review of our records shows that a cancelation request was processed on June 18, 2024, and will be effective on July 28, 2024. Please disregard the billing notice for $4.28 associated with your latest subscription because the notice was generated prior to your cancelation request.Wed love to have you back. If you change your mind, we have a couple of great digital-only offers for you (a replica of the printed paper.) Please visit- latimes.com/subscribe.
