Terrible experience with GetMyBoat. I booked a boat ride that had to be canceled due to dangerous weather, but the company refused to refund my payment. Its unfair and unethical to keep my money for a service that wasnt provided. **************** was unhelpful, and the whole experience has left a bad impression. I expected better professionalism and consideration, especially when safety is involved. I wont be using GetMyBoat again and would not recommend it to others. He kept pushing to try and have me not cancel which was due to weather and rain. It wasnt safe for us! And now Im out over 1k with absolutely nothing to show for it. I had to refund my friends and this driver is also holding my money for a service I never received. UnacceptableCustomer response

Getmyboat has abused their position by making fraudulent charge against me. The rental person who provided the jetski locked down the ski with a motorcycle strap to keep it down. Owner of the boat has been vocal about trying to get more money when the equipment was not up to date on maintenance and dangerous on the road.Business response

Our claims process is very transparent. As you know, the watercraft owner reported damages and provided evidence to support the claim. Our staff has shared what the owner provided with you via email, and we have also been attempting to reach you by phone.
The offer you accepted from the watercraft owner states, Security Allowance: $1,000.00 USD in the event of damage or incidental expenses, an additional charge up to this amount can be requested by the owner post-trip.

The evidence you have provided shows that there was an error in the number you entered for the captain vs the number provided to you on the platform by the boat owner.
As a result, the boat owner declined your request for a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: I asked for evidence of the number I was supposed to call versus the number I actually called. When I went back to the messages, the number was starred out and I could not compare the numbers. In addition, the captain was non-responsive to my texts and no one in a boat was at the dock we were told to be at. This was a scam.

I am rejecting this response because:No one (captain or boat) was at the dock to take us on a boat ride in the ****** as promised. I do not believe I called the wrong number, however even if I did, the boat and captain were a no show. The captain did not respond to my texts. I believe I was totally scammed and I see other allegations of other people from this app saying the same thing.

He nor his assigned captain did not show up at the dock we were told to meet at.I texted him without a response until after the time allotted for our prepaid boat ride.

June 22 I booked a merchant through get my boat. It was advertised as a yacht and the activity included were 45 minutes of snorkeling, a visit to the dolphin sanctuary that would last for 15 mins, a seafood buffet that included lobster and to end at the beach where we would be able to participate in a boat party. The only service provided was transportation to/from excursion and a small catamaran type of boat that took us straight to the beach for the party portion. We received none of the service originally advertised. All that was provided on the boat was non fresh fruit and some beverages. The other patrons on the boat verbally told us that they only paid $50 per person for the experience provided. Upon contacting merchant to see if we can receive refund of $50 per person since initially we paid $215 total for 2 people for a falsely advertised experience. The merchant only offered a $20 refund per person for the buffet portion but there were multiple falsely advertised experiences that we did not receive. When the merchant did not want to give an appropriate refund I reach out the get my boat to try to resolve they were not willing to resolve issue.Business response

I update my resolution to satisfactory once the business tech out with a resolution but since then have not heard back from Get my boat. Is there a way to reopen or update this? I reached out to them and received no response. I feel they lied about the resolution so that I can close out the complaint.Business response

Hello, I made a boat reservation from website getmyboat.com for Sunday, 7/28 3-7PM in *******, ***********This website shows suggestions after you send an inquiry to a boat, asking if you want to send inquiry to similar boats, I said yes. One of the boats that the website suggested was ************************************* boat. He sent me an offer to complete the booking and also sent a message. I responded to his message with our experience of renting boats for the last 4 years and friend has a sailing training. Also asked if he has a toddler vest.Although the inquiry that was sent to him not mentioning any license but talking about casual experience we have, he didn't say anything about my experience but responded that he doesn't have a toddler vest.On the event day, me, my husband and our toddler arrived to the dock and he asked if we had a license. I told him we did rent boats multiple times and never asked a license (WA drivers license was enough) he said he needs a license, later I asked my friends and they also confirmed they don't have one.I told **** and his wife on the spot, this is not a requirement + I messaged them already that we don't have a license + his listing doesn't have that either. Later I asked him if he is OK with partial refund or cancellation he said yes. We decided both to reach out to website and talk later, it was Sunday so we won't be having someone answering soon.Later, he told the customer service he doesn't want to make a refund. I told the customer service what we talked about and he doesn't have the requirement. They sent me a screenshot showing he added that. I asked them if they are able to see the last update on his listing, since then I sent a few more emails to the company and they don't respond to my emails.This is clear negligence of renter's rights, he updated the listing afterward and GetMyBoat is not willing to help me, not even to refund the fuel charges, which we didn't spend and was included in the price.Please advise,****Business response

Communication is very important, and it is our position that any requirements for a successful day out on the water be communicated ahead of time. Failure to do so, in this case, resulted in an unfortunate cancellation. We have addressed this with the boat owner to avoid this in the future.
We have also addressed the lack of a timely response to your concerns with our team internally. You should have been advised that the matter had been escalated for review and resolution.

Please note that Getmyboat did not cancel your reservation; it appears your reservation was unfortunately canceled by the boat owner. While we understand that things do not go according to plan, cancellations can occur for many reasons, from weather to mechanical.

I booked *******'s Yacht in ******, ** on July 20th through GetMyBoat and she scammed us. Before we got on the boat, they told us that the bathroom does not always work and they apologized for this. The first girl that walked into the bathroom walked out and explained that it didn't work. We never used the bathroom on the boat as a result. The captain apologized and said this happens a lot. Now they are trying to charge us $500 to fix their toilet that already didn't work. In addition to this fraud, the captain was under the influence. He was smoking weed, drinking hard liquor (as pictured), drinking spiked seltzers (twisted Teas - that he packed) and drinking our booze (spiked Topo **************). Needless to say, we did not feel safe on the boat. We asked him multiple times if we could go around the lake and he wouldn't take us anywhere. We docked the boat a few feet away from the dock and never left. We were told it was a customizable charter. A complete fraud.Business response

Our support staff have been in contact with you directly on this matter. We have reviewed evidence from both you and the boat owner in question.
The evidence provided does not support the claim that the captain consumed alcohol or drugs. The bottle pictured on the dash has the bottom cut out, and it is attached directly to the boat. The only thing in the bottle is power steering fluid that goes to the boat.
The evidence provided also does not support the boat owners claim for damages; thus, no additional charges have been applied.

Dates were June *****, 2023. $1,182.50 for two days with a ****** Tritoon 28'The owner of the boat, *****************, advised me at the last minute that the pontoon boat was no longer available and he would substitute a different boat. The boat was old and poorly maintained. The boat would not start for most of the time we had it and *** said it was because we did not know how to operate the starter. Turn the key to the right-duh. Because we were unable to use the boat for much of the time I asked for a partial refund, but was refused. *** has lied several times about the condition of the boat. I paid for parasailing through getmyboat.com, the day of, a driver showed up and stated they charged us too little and I would need to pay 4 times as much in order to parasail. I said no and reached out to their support team. I was told, I'm writing, that I would receive a refund within 10 days. It has been 15 days now with no refund, and I'm not getting any responses when I email to find out the status of my refund.Business response

The manager of my charter company was in charge of *** rides. He had a client that agreed to pay for an extended ride, but they never paid up. The guest never responded to GetMyBoat and so money would never be collected, even though all text confirmed that money was owed. I asked my manager to leave it alone. He stayed on the platform, but unpublished the boat(s) when he had been told that he had been recorded without permission.My manager left the company months ago and I started a new account since we didn't have access to the account he started. We were banned by affiliation because my manager made a stink about *** refusing to collect from the client. Our company had to pay out of pocket and we left it alone to avoid any escalation, but somehow we were the ones ban and the client that never paid their bill is still using the app. What kind of ****** is being taught here? We're a 5 star company that sent over a hundred referrals to your company. We were one of the founding charters on ***, we met executives from around the country and helped get several other charters up and going on your platform. The manager your group had the tif with no longer lives in the city. There is zero affiliation. Go after the person, not the ** address. We don't have anything to do with your dispute and don't believe we should be dragged into this.Business response

As you have been advised multiple times by our Account Managers and Support Staff, both accounts have been banned indefinitely for many reasons. We will outline a few here in no particular order;
Verbally abusive to Staff on several occasions.
Multiple Terms of Service Violations
Advising that the charter company knowingly operates illegally.
Threats to other charter companies listed with us.
Misrepresentation by repeatedly identifying yourself as the previous account holder.
We recognize that we have sent the charter company a significant number of our customers, resulting in over two hundred completed reservations. We provided multiple opportunities to work with us. However, the points outlined above are taken very seriously.

That what the issue the original host had. We were told that there would be pause In the service due to your group not collecting money owed and because your group recorded conversations without consent, which is illegal in ***********The reason we had various hosts sign up for your service is because the original host is no longer with us and so we had to start fresh. We were told to wait and so we waited weeks thinking that there was a delay in the system. We signed up again thinking there was a technical issue. Then we signed up again not understanding why we were being penalized for an argument that occurred with a previous host. The lack of communication created unnecessary confusion.
