    Consistently Super Shady Billing We used to go to this office, but quit for a few years because of the constant up-sell tactics and shady billing practices. Ask for an itemized receipt to confirm what your payments covered and what was covered by insurance and they tell you they'll email it to you and it never comes. We left for another less-convenient office for a few years. But my family yearned to go back to AA because it's so close to our house. Well we went back and nothing had changed. If anything, it just got worse. Latest example: we have HMO and my insurance covers routine cleanings every six months. On the latest visit (Jan '23), upon checking out, the receptionist told me it would be $25 for the visit. I said it should be covered and she said not since the start of the new year. I asked for a receipt and was told it would be emailed to me (as usual). On the walk to my car, I called my insurance liaison who double-checked and confirmed nothing had changed and suggested maybe they thought I was on a PPO plan. I called AA back and was told they knew I was on HMO and that all HMO patients now get charged $25 per visit. I called my liaison back and told them this, and he told me to request an itemized receipt showing exactly what my payment went toward. I called AA back and told them what my liaison needed. I got a call back by ******* (who apparently does billing) who said they'd reverse the charges, but needed my credit card info to process. She said an error was made in my case in charging me $25. I asked what would be done about all of the other HMO patients from whom $25 was required, and she assured me that no one else had been subject to the same mistake. I reminded her that it was her office who told me all HMO patients were now required to pay $25 and she thanked me and bid me a good day. For my daughter, they now say she needs all four wisdom teeth pulled for about $3000 after insurance. Time to switch offices and get a second opinion.
