Misuse of BBB Name and/or Logo:
La-Rich LLC's advertising online and in videos includes BBB trademarks and claims of BBB accreditation.  This business is not BBB accredited and our policies prohibit such references.

In November 2021, BBB contacted the business concerning its online advertising. Connecticut state law requires that every contractor include his/her Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) Registration number on all advertising; including online, print, social media, and business documents. BBB suggested that the business add this number to its advertising to become compliant with Connecticut State Law. To date, this has not been added to all of the company's advertising.

Its website and Facebook pages offer "100% financing available!  Payments as low as $99 per month!" If an advertisement of closed-end credit contains any of the following triggering terms, three specific disclosures must also be stated, clearly and conspicuously. The triggering terms are the amount or percentage of any down payment; the number of payments or period of repayment; the amount of any payment, expressed either as a percentage or as a dollar amount; or the amount of any finance charge. The three disclosures are the amount or percentage of the down payment; the terms of repayment; and the “annual percentage rate,” using that term spelled out in full or the abbreviation “APR.” If the rate may be increased after consummation of the credit transaction, that fact must be disclosed. The business did not add the necessary disclosures to its advertising to ensure compliance with the BBB Code of Advertising and the Truth in Lending Act.

The business states at its website, "Backed by the best shingle manufacturer in the continent, we offer 100% workmanship warranty for all our roofing services and ensure that your roof stays in the best shape for years on end," and "As a “master elite” roofing contractor in Connecticut, we offer a golden pledge warranty to all our customers."  When using the terms guarantee and/or warranty, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details can be seen prior to sale. These details must disclose any material limitations on the guarantee or warranty.  The business did not add the terms of its warranties or guarantees to its advertising.

Its Facebook page states "Get your roof completed for less than your cable bill." According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.  The business did not provide proof of current certification and licensing for its inspectors/crew or substantiation for the claim "Get your roof completed for less than your cable bill."

The business states on its Facebook page that "Vinyl won't rot, chip, flake or blister the way wood siding can and often does."  Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  The business did not provide proof for this claim.

I had a horrible experience with a roofing company that I would like to share. I hired LA Rich Roofing Company from **********, which was a huge mistake on my part. The **** ******** Building Inspector failed the roof and told them in a report exactly what they needed to do to get it to pass. Bill from LA Rich yelled and screamed at me because the building inspector came to inspect the roof, he said the inspector was wrong, that he didn't know his job among other insults I won't repeat here. The inspector was nice enough to meet them at my house and show them exactly what had to be corrected. They never yelled at the inspector, though. I guess they felt more comfortable yelling at a 72 yr old woman, says a lot about them. There were also other problems with their work in which the owner Scott told me to go up on the roof and fix myself. Boy, did I pick the wrong roofing company! I just wanted to warn everyone of my experience. I will be handling things to have their faulty work corrected. I definitely do not recommend them.
