    I was recommended to go to Mark’s by someone who has been using their services for a number of years. The word of mouth was all I needed to allow me to trust their skill set to handle my vehicle. Prior to my recent experience, they have been professional &timely. This time around, I was disappointed to hear that the owner, who repeatedly exclaimed that he has been in the business for 40 years, was “hurt” & felt “bullied” by my simple questioning of services & pricing. He provided an estimate for a much needed repair & I questioned why such a high value for a part, that I found would not cost much for. He agreed that if I were to find the part and bring it in, that he would still service my car. After purchasing the needed part & reaching out to confirm that it was on its way to me, he proceeded to refuse work. His excuse was that I “belittled” him because I was questioning him on a price for a part and being that I am trying to work with a budget that he did not meet. I wanted to purchase the part myself, to cut costs down. He did not appreciate the fact that questioned him & told me that “if I wanted to get other quotes for prices, I need go elsewhere before coming to him”I find it hard to imagine that someone who repeatedly boasts about his tenure, feels bullied&belittled by a woman much younger than him. my experience with the automotive industry, people are allowed to shop around for the best price and service. Even more so true when a female is trying to not get taken advantage of or doing some research for themselves. When approached upon pick up of the vehicle to have a civilized conversation and gain a better understanding of the phone call that was had, he refused to make eye contact with me, elevated his voice at me, and was only willing to acknowledge my male counterpart. If this is how he treats all of his customers that may question him, including the ones of the female variety, I’m shocked that he’s maintained a 40 year clientele with what I saw today.
