My wife and I contracted with Swift Pools to design and install a semi-custom Mountain Lake Vinyl pool. We reasonably expected to get our pool sometime in 2021 and I believe Swift Pools reasonably expected to be able to deliver. Two years, eleven months, and three days after signing our contract, our pool was finally completed. As the financial leader of a global manufacturing business, I understand first-hand how the Pandemic impacted supply chains, lead times, and costs. After much research, I came to understand that pool industry supply chains were hit particularly hard by the pandemic, combined with a massive surge in demand for backyard pools related to lifestyle changes resulting from Covid. Throughout the delay, my wife and I were kept informed of the progress made on pools being built and where we stood in the queue, working with Hilary Swift on several iterations on the design of our pool. The pool was finally laid out in July 2022, and I began the process of removing trees and shrubs to facilitate the installation. Although there was an attempt to start my pool in late 2022, it got too cold, and plans were cancelled. I was told we’d be the 1st installation in Spring 2023. Between July 2020 and Spring 2023, the cost of pools increased significantly. I knew that and I believe so did most that were under contract for a pool. Then on March 30, 2023, I received a ‘form’ letter from Swift Pools that our contracted price will increase 40%-45% due to increased costs. Long story short….we were able to agree on a revised price that we could both live with, well below the stated % increase. On Monday, May 22, 2023 Swift Pools began the installation of our pool and it was completed on June 19, 2023. In the end, we got a quality pool that was built to meticulous specification. To put it simply, Ethan Swift is a master pool builder and Swift Pools knows how to install a quality pool. Their attention to detail is what impressed me most.
