Hired MTS to put a new roof on a 3 unit condo 1 year ago. Currently 2 of the 3 units leak and have water damage. Have located the problem spots and are under warranty but no way to get them fixedInitial Complaint

This company was hired to reroof my home after the hurricane. The work was completed but now Im trying to authenticate that work was done through city permitting and discovered company failed to complete the permitting process. One inspection was completed but the company never followed up at completion to request a completion of work (fiinal inspection) notification to the city. Without this I have no way of proving to insurance company that my roof was completed. I contacted the company when I realized there was an issue and they said it was citys issue. After I contacted the city and found out that the proper paperwork had not been completed MTS has become silent and will not answer my calls or emails.Initial Complaint

3/16/2023 we signed a contract with MTS Construction for a new roof. The contract stipulated there would be 3 payments of $5,950. The first payment was a deposit due at signing, the second at tear off, and third at completion. We were told it would take ***** days for the project to be completed. We paid $5,950 on 3/16/2023 and at tear off on 9/18/2023. This was supposed to go to buying our materials and supplies, and then ultimately, we would get a new roof. After they were done we were to pay the remaining $5,950. The dispute arose when 6 months passed and no work done. Eventually a tear off was done, but it was the day before MTS lost their license. They did the tear off knowing they wouldnt have a license the next day, and they never bought our materials with the $11,950 we gave them. MTS eventually contacted us and told us they couldnt complete the job without more cash up front. They stated they would not take check, credit, only cash. This violated our contract terms, and they also admitted via email to not purchasing our materials with the $11,950 we already gave them. When we investigated further, we discovered false documents in our permitting paperwork, to include a forged signature on the notice of commencement and sheathing affidavit that was backdated, both documents that were notarized even though false. The business hasnt tried to resolve the issue, and even admitted via email they couldnt help us without more cash. They did ask us to sign a termination of contract which we refused. The business lost their license due to deceptive practices and are currently involved in several lawsuits as a result of taking money and not performing the work. We do not have an account number, but the permit # is ************** (******************), and which we have since voided. There was advertising; MTS Construction aired a couple commercials that made them seem like a legitimate business. Apparently they were not, and we became a victim of theirs.Initial Complaint

We hired a roofing contractor - MTS Construction - on 12.22.2022 to install a new metal roof. We put a deposit of $12,250 down at the time because we were told they were going to "order metal" for ******** was not installed until 7/31/2023. During which time we had multiple leaks - creating un-repaired/compensated interior damage. After install, there were major deficiencies that have been unresolved. Subsequent roofing reports indicate an entirely new roof is needed due to the poor installation job. Our house is currently liened by their metal supplier because they failed to pay their suppliers. We've documented numerous attempts to communicate with this company in order to resolve this issues. Including phone calls, emails, notarized letters, and 558 notices.Initial Complaint

Signed for a new roof in Jan 2023. Tearoff was in May. Metal was delivered in June, work was completed iat the end of August, and leaks were immediately found. They sent out the same people to fix it numerous times, but it's still leaking. There is internal damage because of the leaks. Roof is now finished but it is still leaking and the quality of the work devalues our house. We have a construction lien on our home because they never paid the metal folks. There's also a lien from the roofers against MTS because they are unpaid.They no longer answer our phone calls or respond to text messages, and they are no longer at the address on record so we cannot go see them in person. We are going to have to get an attorney to get our money back and pay another company to repair the leaks, shoddy workmanship, cosmetics, and internal damage and get that money back from MTS.Initial Complaint

My parents' home sustained roof damage during Hurricane ***. We reached out to MTS Construction and received a quote in October 2022. When our claim finally settled with our insurance carrier in August 2023, I reached out to MTS Construction (***********************) to see if they would honor the quote. He told me, yes definitely. We signed a contract in September 2023, gave them a deposit to start the work. As of December 14, 2023, no one has contacted me back to let me know the status. I have been calling MTS *************) for over 2 weeks, leaving messages, but never receive a call back. On December 14, 2023, I called and the phone number is no longer valid. They have a deposit from us and want it back. They never sent me a copy of the signed contractInitial Complaint

On 9/2/23, I signed a contract with MTS to reroof our home following hurricane ****. I made a deposit of $6000.00 at that time. I was initially told it would take approximately 6 weeks to get the permit. After that period of time I began calling to check on the status of the permit and when the job would be started. After several calls I was told it would be started the 1st week of November. No one ever showed up or called. Since that time I have made 1-2 calls every week and cannot bet a return call and have not been able to speak to anyone. I am told every time someone will get back to us.Initial Complaint

Hired MTS construction on 4/13/2023 and paid first installment with promise that they would complete all work within 90 days. They didnt start work until 8/18/2023. They ripped the roof off, but claimed shingles were back ordered for 2-6 weeks. I paid the second installment, but they never actually ordered the shingles. They took my money and have since left the dry-in exposed for weeks without any communication of finishing the job. The delay and poor workmanship has caused severe water damage in the home due to leaks to which they did not fix. Also during this time, the qualifying contractor stated they dropped their license with ********************** due to their non-professional manner and criminal dealings. No communication was given that a new license was afforded by a different qualifying contractor. I hired a lawyer to write a demand letter for my money back and to terminate the contract. They ignored the letter. My attorney believes they were unlicensed at the time of signing the contract, this is under investigation by the ***** Now, due to the damages and having to hire another roofer, I have lost a significant amount of money. This includes what the house could have sold for over the last several months that the roof was not finished (the house was on the market up until they took the roof off) as well as maintenance costs to upkeep the property.
