Quickly charged us and our insurance for an exam that was never performed. We explained to them that we just needed to ask the doctor question before we went ahead with the exam and they did everything they could to have us do the exam anyway it was a pre-surgical exam that we knew if the surgery had to be postponed would have to be done again closer to the surgery date, so after a lot of insistence, we were able to ask the doctor if it was best to postpone due to some health concerns his answer was absolutely, ************** exam was performed and yet they charged our insurance and sent us a bill for the co-pay. I have tried over and over , six months to speak to someone in billing and Im told there was no direct number and that my message will be relayed and someone will get back to me. Was never returned. Went into the office and even the front desk staff would not let me speak to anyone in billing and insisted I just leave another message and that we would be contacted .again we werent. At this point I have no choice but to contact my insurance and report the fraudulent claim .maybe that will get someones attention.Review from Cyndi G

We were not able to access healthcare personnel after surgery although they give an emergency phone number to call. Their phone system only says I do not recognize that number. We used 3 different phones Incase the phones were at fault.Quigley Eye Specialists Response

I would leave zero stars if I could. Quigley Management and customer service are terrible. I had purchased a significant amount in gift cards during a promotion with the expectation to use them over the next year. I was told they were closing the aesthetic business shortly and would not refund any of my payment towards gift cards. I was forced to spend over $1200 in products and minor services that I did not need at this time. They would only sell products that they had in stock and several of products that I requested were out of stock. I ended up purchasing products that have an expiration date earlier than when I can possibly use them. I think this illustrates very poor corporate management decisions to not support a loyal customer after they decided to stop their aesthetic services. It shows a total lack of concern for their customers and their reputation.Quigley Eye Specialists Response

While I love my eye doctor, I'm unhappy with the practice.I went to the eye doctor today & they tried to charge me for a refraction test they didn't perform! The person that first saw me, not the doctor, even asked if I wanted it, explaining what it was. I verbally told her "no". Later, at check out, I was told I was being charged for one. I told them I wouldn't pay for a service I never received & that the doctor said my eyes haven't changed. Then they argued that my sight did change as the doc wrote a new script (which is NOT what he told me) & if I had it printed out they would indeed charge. I was told if I wanted my old scrip to see the eyeglass ************** print it out, but it would probably be expired. It's not! Prescriptions for eyes last for 7 years! I was informed I will probably still be billed for the refraction, which I refuse to pay & will report it as fraud if so! This is all since Quigley Eye Specialists took over their office, so wondering if this is a result of micro management. My eyes are good & I'm upset as now I'm thinking I'll have to find a new place for future exams. ??Caveat emptor!Review from Simeon M

Terrible response to my inquiry. Had my examination at the Lehigh Acres office. **************** told me that I should see the retina specialist because there was a problem behind my tight eye and she couldnt finish the exam till that was taken care of. Went to the retina specialist and he found nothing wrong. Called the Lehigh office and asked about getting my exam finished. Still havent heard back from them. Was told I had an abrasion on one lens that Quigley had put in last year and I might need a prescription for glasses. Apparently they want me to make a new appointment so I can be charged again. Will never go back.Review from Victoria G

I am a patient at the ******************* for dry eye. ************* is good, but I can't seem to get the office to contact Caremark to refill my prescription. Today is the second time I've contacted them (in the office) about it. When I asked to talk with the Office manager, I was cut off. A second call got me a man who answered from his home ( I heard kids in the background); he was helpful, but told me I should always contact him about refills (!!!). He said he'd contact the office to tell them to watch for the fax from Caremark asking for authorization - their second one. The first was ignored, I guess. This is the second medication from ***** that this has happened with - I never got the necessary authorization send by the Quigley office to Caremark, so I gave up. I'm changing Doctors - can't stand this kind of treatment when there are Offices which have people running them who actually do what is necessary to fulfill their Dr.'s wishes about a patient.Too bad the powers that be can't get it together.Review from Nadine K

My exam was done by a support staff, not OD. OD scolded me for not getting an annual eye exam, said I was at risk for glaucoma. Never before told this. Don't trust. I had to pay a copay and refraction fee. After my insurance adjudicated the claim and paid the refraction contracted rate. No copay responsibility was indicated on my part. I have attempted several times to reach billing to request a refund of the 85.00 I paid unnecessarily only to hear that the mail box is full and no messages can be left. I've even gone back to the clinic but they refer me to the billing number telling me to call at 8 AM. Again this morning at 8;am, tried to call billing. I got the same message, mailbox full unable to take messages. Then disconnected. When this was Comprehensive Eye Care, service was so much better, now that is Quigley the service and competence has gone out the door. I recommend going elsewhere. I will no longer recommend them either.Review from Miriam C

I was overcharged for my glasses by $185. I purchased these glasses on January 28, 2022 and charged to my credit card $440. Argus eyecare insurance covered $150 making the total $590 for the glasses. When I receive my explanation of benefits from my health insurance company Freedom Health, it showed I had overpaid $185. My actual cost should have been $255. When I went back to Quigley Eye and asked for a refund I was told they do not have to abide by the insurance companies policy. They did admit to a mistake of $35 which they said would credit back to my credit card however it never happened and I did not get the $35. I have filed grievances with my health insurance company with no success and have also sent copies of the grievance letters and the explanation of benefits to ****** ******* and he has not acknowledged the over charging to me either.Freedom Health my health provider has assured me that their Explanation of Benefits is correct and when a company agrees to accept their insurance they must accept their guidelines of what they can charge their patients.Review from Susan K

Port Charlotte location booked me for a plaquenil field test and gave me a test that is for diabetics. In the course of the test my eye was injured. The pain for 2 days was horrible. They provided me with antibiotics as a courtesy, but then they managed to bill me for the procedure that they should have never given me in the first place. I called and said I was going to file a formal complaint and I was told that the bill was being credited and my request for a manager to call me for the overall situation has still gone unheard. This has been almost 2 months. Although I don't have permanent damage... This is still medical malpractice!Review from Claudia B

WORST DOCTOR EVER!!! I felt so humiliated and robbed (since I paid cash) by this place, and the joke of a ******* *************** *************************** ********* who immediately dismissed my story and symptoms the minute I started talking. I recently had the most scary case of shingles that went to my eyes from a small rash next to my nose. First optometrist that saw me at different clinic, diagnosed me with keratitis, elevated eye pressure and said I had inflammation but recommended seeing an ophthalmologist for further evaluation, while waiting for the appt I was able to get the antiviral meds and by the third dose my symptoms started to subside yet I was left with a few strange symptoms I wanted to discuss with *********************. Finally I had my appt. and I started telling my story and very impatiently he cut me off and said he could just look to my eyes and was able to tell IF I have had the virus, implying I could be lying or making it up. Fortunately for me, I apparently had no scaring left from the ordeal so he concluded that it couldnt be true, nothing I was explaining he was interested in hearing about, evidently this joke of a doctor ****** know **** about shingles and he only knows what he was told in school forty years ago and since my case was atypical because I didnt get scars from it, he just chose to dismiss me entirely. Did not answer any of my questions and was shocked at the fact that I showed him a picture of my retina that I got at the first place that saw me, asking three times how did I have such images in my tablet, I explained most places now take a pic and send to you and he was acting in such disbelief. I felt so insulted when he suggested to see a neurologist implying Im crazy, very ignorant person, if I had an atypical case maybe he could have listened and learned from it instead , unacceptable. And pay for that on top of is just beyond inconceivable. I would like to talk to business owner about this doctors behavior and ignoranceQuigley Eye Specialists Response
