I was employeed with EWC for about a year .. started in 2022. I loved working there because I loved interacting with the clients and building bonds with them .. another thing that also kept me coming back to work was my undeniable talent in sales .. at EWC at every location I worked at I had the highest sales in retails, tips and add ons. Management had very mean girl spirited attitudes and were very unappreciative and jealous of the waxers who did really good at the company.. management saw how much our clients loved me and also saw our checks every pay period.. I was transferred to a busier location (GMs words: to motivate and bring friendly competition) but I did not know Id have a new very aggressive and rude manager.. my new manager was a previous waxer at the same location.. and I took over her waxer shift as she transitioned into her new leadership position.. she threatened to physically assault me, I told the ***** and just a month after the harassment I was retaliated against.. the harassment from the store manager was so bad That I started to record our conversations to defend myself against her lies.. and through all of the harassment from leadership I still came into work, said hello to everyone there including management and left with above performing add ons and retail #s .. I was always above goal.. when I expressed my concerns about the store manager to the general manager I was gas lit even though I had proof of the harassment .. the work environment became very unmotivating and I became depressed and confused .. Im young, black and female, attractive and confident and those attributes will leave people including leadership very insecure and theyll try to beat you down especially if youre winning too.. the store manager tried to do everything in her power to get me to quit even as far as decreasing my hourly rate and removing service credits.. if youre a customer at EWC Id suggest support small business owners , the waxers at treated horribly
