On June 3, 2022 I entered in a contract for $4,650.00 with Mr. Eduardo S**** from DJ Brick Pavers Pool Renovation to install paver in my backyard. The job began on 6/7/2022. That day the contract was modified to include the move of four sprinkler's heads further away from the house to give space for the pavers that were going to be installed, For that additional work I was quoted $300. When the contract was signed I was requested to pay $3,000 as a down payment. The second day after the work begun we added a a new part to the patio, for which Mr. S**** from DJ Brick Pavers quoted $500 more and we agreed to do it. The pavers were installed, sand was put and on June 10, 2022 Mr. S**** said that the work was done and requested the remaining of the payment, that by that time were $2,450.00. The following day, after a through inspection of the patio it was show that the patio was not correctly done and looks unfinished. A retaining wall was not installed (even that was part of the contract), the edging and finishing were a a mess and they did not put sealant on the pavers to seal the sand. Seeing that Mr. S**** did not came to finish the job the next day, I contacted him on 6/13/22 to inquire when are they coming back to finish the job, since there were thing unfinished. He called me and said that they were coming. At that moment I asked him about the sealant and he told me that the sealant was optional and that will be $1,000 more for that. That information was never related to me when we signed the contract, nor I was giving the option to deny it if I do not want to pay more. After various calls, on June 29 they sent another employee to build the retaining wall, but no sealer on the pavers. On July 7, Jose (partner in DJ Bricks) came and after I asked again about the sealer he admitted to me that they leave the sealer out of the contracts on purpose to give a low quote to get the job and later charge more since they know the sealant is necessary.
