My husband was transferred from the hospital to Scott Lake Health and Rehabilitation at 6:30 PM on 8-10-2023. His paperwork clearly said that he is on and needs oxygen. At 8:15 PM he called me in distress. His wrist band also said FALL RISK. There we no rails on the bed, his urine bag was laying on his stomach, and he had NO oxygen. We live in Bartow so I called my sister in law who is a NP and lives close by. She was beyond appalled when she arrived. NO ONE even tended to him upon arrival. The CNA said the Nurse Mary was at dinner and there was no one to help. Nurse Mary admitted to my sister in law that she had NOT even read my husband’s paperwork yet. Needless to say the scene wasn’t pretty, but oxygen finally arrived and my husband’s saturation level was 79! In the meantime, I’m on my way from Bartow and on the phone with Brittany Bridges the manger on call. Brittany told me that Nurse Mary deserved a dinner break and the nurse on the other wing refused to help. Really? She also told me that they did not have a bed with rails. There. Was a lady in a wheelchair in the hall who asked if I could help her she said that she had been sitting there in distress for 45 minutes and could not get anyone to help her. This facility should not be in business. They clearly do not care about people. I would not board my dog there. I gave this a one rating as there is nothing lower.
