Shame On You, Sorensen...and *********,( a prestigious moving company ) for allowing Sorensen to discredit your reputation by representing you. This was my 23rd move using an international company...so let's say...it wasn't my first rodeo.
. Smooth talking middle management type guy with VP title comes by my condo to discuss move from Melbourne, Fl. to Honolulu, Hawaii.
. Gives written estimate.....10,000lbs over, 64 boxes too many. I only had about 35,000 lbs. Even Sorensen's initial packing team thought it was a joke.
. During packing, middle management guy returns to say how sorry he feels that we're being uprooted...and offers dinner next door next door at The Chart House. Nice Thought..but..he never came through. At least he's being consistant with his estimate...and I can afford dinner myself.
.Fast forward...delivery in Honolulu. Scheduled for 9:00am..actual arrival of truck 11:00am. ( New condo rules...9-3:45pm contractors allowed on property) 5 men arrive, 2 leave at 1pm..the others leave at 2:30pm. 35 boxes unloaded. Since that was a Friday, they would not return until the following Monday...
. Before the last day of the delivery, I was notified they would not have time to unpack any boxes..which I prepaid for with Sorensen ( 2 Payments..app: $20,000 & 13.000) prior to any delivery.
. When boxes and furniture were deivered, no inventory was written down, as to the numbers. When I asked why, they simply said they didn't have the time...and started joking that things could break. if I didn't sign off. I obviously signed off with a good review about them...under duress.
. Upon contacting Sorenen in Fl. I was notified by the Middle Management Guy, that he was not responsible for his sub contractor's action in Hawaii...but he offered me a "good will" jester of $250.
REALLY?
.There should be quite a refund for non performance and whatever my legal department decides is appropriate. I will be returning to Florida..and this saga will continue.......

We apologize on behalf of our team for the frustrations sustained during your relocation to Hawaii. After reviewing your complaint below in detail and discussing it with all parties involved, we respectfully maintain our position that Sorensen's services related to your move were in line with the expectations laid out prior to your move. The amount offered as a good-faith gesture is also in line with the cost of those services. Please understand that given the nature of international moving, with charges being based on actuals, we do intentionally try to provide "worst-case" pricing, however, we do agree the amount of overestimated was excessive and do understand being frustrated by how much less the actual move cost versus what it was estimated to cost.
