    According to the company a person who decides to purchase a timeshare unit, is required to sign a series of documents disclosing all conditions of the sale, including their right under Florida real estate law to cancel the contract within 10 calendar days without penalty. The company advises that any consumers having problems with Westgate Resorts may contact the Owner Relations Department via telephone at 1-800-925-9999 in order to resolve their issues.

     

    GENERAL INFORMATION: As with any transaction, be sure to read all agreements, guarantees and instructions before signing. Do not be pressured into signing an agreement before you are ready and you understand all terms and conditions. Make sure all oral promises are put in writing. Be wary of vaguely worded provisions, exclusions or limitations that could pose a problem later. Never sign a contract with sections left blank. You may also wish to have your attorney review the contract before signing. Under Florida Statue, for Florida properties, consumers have ten days to cancel the purchase of a timeshare unit without penalty.

      **Westgate *********************************** - Disappointing Experience and Unresolved Issues** I recently stayed at Westgate *********************************** (***************************************) from October 19th to October 21st in a Two-Bedroom Deluxe Villa. Unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating due to unresolved billing issues and poor communication. Upon checkout on October 21st, I noticed two unexpected charges: a $200 deposit that was not refunded and a $300 fee for alleged property damage. The resort claims the microwave was "broken." Despite multiple attempts to address these charges, I only received vague responses until November 15th, when I was finally provided a report by a Security Manager stating that the front panel of the microwave was completely damaged. During my efforts to resolve this issue, I encountered the following: - Repeated promises from representatives that a manager would return my calls, which never happened. - Contradictory and inconsistent explanations from at least three different representatives. - No direct resolution or clear evidence to justify the charges. The lack of professionalism and transparency has been extremely disappointing. As a guest, I expected better communication and prompt resolution from a resort of this caliber. I am still waiting for a fair resolution to this matter. I urge Westgate *********************************** to address this issue and improve their customer service to prevent similar experiences for other guests.
