We bought a home in 2019 in Gulf Breeze, Florida in the Heather's Place subdivision. For the first couple of years, we would rarely have issues with our grinder pump about to overflow. Then, in the summer of 2024 when they were building Phase 3, we started to have issues every week with our grinder pump. Our alarm would notify us that the grinder pump was about to overflow, and our toilets and sinks would gurgle. We were forced to not use any water; No laundry, showering, flushing toilets or washing hands, etc. It has affected our life, and our household only has 2 people in it. When it was about to overflow, we called the City of Gulf Breeze. The city would come out and flush the main line. It became such a nuisance that someone from the city talked to us and others in our neighborhood and told us that Henry Homes did not install the correct grinder pump; he said the city told Henry Homes the correct size, but that Henry Homes put in a smaller pump. Inspectors for the house just check to see if the pump is working, they don't check to see if it is the right size. The current one we have does not have enough PSI to push against the main line, so it will back up. In order for us to fix it, we will have to replace the grinder pump to a larger size, and others in the neighborhood who have done this said it cost them $3,000 to $5,000 dollars. We just want accountability and for us to not have to worry about sewer coming into our home. The house is only a little over 5 years old, so we and others in our neighborhood should not be having this issue. Please look into them because they are not doing things to code.

We apologize you are having an issue with your grinder pump.  The sewer lines and the pump Henry Company Homes installed were per code and per county specifications and inspected by Santa Rosa County and the lines and pump passed inspection.  Since then, the City of Gulf Breeze has tied in several other entities to the sewer lines, which is why you are experiencing issues now and weren't when you first purchased your home.  Therefore, Henry Company Homes believes this is an infrastructure issue with the city of Gulf Breeze.
