      I had a claim for my roof and the insurance approved it. I had a professional roofer that was going to do the roof for me but American Traditions Insurance said that they have their own roofer that I HAD to use. The roofing company has been the most unprofessional that I have come across. They took months to actual do the work and that was only after I kept sending them paperwork that they claimed they never received and now they just sent me a bill for $2,000 to do wood work on the roof. They said the insurance doesn't cover it. However they never told me that they were or even had to replace any wood in my roof and even an amount. Instead I just received an invoice for $2,000. This is a scam and I can't believe the insurance company endorsed this company to do my roof. American Insurance phone number is not working and they need to call me and make this right. I shouldn't have received a bill for any amount that I didn't agree too. And why would you force me to use a company that rips people off. Especially since I already had a professional roofer and he would not have done this to me. This is completely unacceptable and I want someone to get back to me ASAP.

      We apologize for the confusion regarding the supplemental invoice.  The claims examiner has contacted the Insured and the roofing company to advise that ATIC is paying the supplement in full to the roofing company.  We are happy we were able to resolve this matter with our Insured.

      On 6/23/22 I paid American Traditions Ins. $1077.00 from my checking account to cover my mother's home owners ins. for 1 year. The coverage started 7/7, but on 7/11 the title was changed to my name due to her death. I had to buy a new policy in my name for over $1200.00, but they refuse to issue a refund of the $1077.00 in my name. I have furnished the death certificate, then the front page copy of her will showing I'm a beneficiary. They then said they needed the whole will, but the next day reneged on that, and would only issue a check 'to the estate of'. The bank has told me they will not cash that for me, it has to say 'estate of OR ***** ****'. They refuse ** issue it that way. I was told ** contact my lawyer (which I do not have, or care to waste more money on to retrieve my own money). I am at a loss of where to go from here to receive my refund. Many children handle parents finances, isn't there a recourse? I just want the extra years worth of insurance money they are sitting on refunded so it can be cashed.

      January 10, 2022. I called regarding a water leak. The plumber fixed the leak. I paid the plumber and contacted the Insurance Company. The demolition crew removed my flooring in the kitchen and dining room, dried the moisture so that the flooring and ruined cabinets can be replaced. The restoration has not yet even begun. I want them to contact the restoration company. Last year they used Master Restoration. That would be fine with me. I am a disabled 87 year old widow who has a problem hearing and talking on the phone. Since the company has done this before, it is up to them to contact someone to install my flooring and reset my appliances that were affected. I still sit with an unfinished floor which makes it difficult to walk on or keep clean. I need them to finish restoring my flooring and setting my appliances. They sent me the check which is deposited in the bank. IT IS UP TO THEM TO CONTACT AND HAVE MY HOME RESTORED.

I have no experience when it comes to picking contractors. However, I did try to contact the contractor that they suggested when I had a prior leak. I had no success in getting a response from that contractor. I tried several times with no results. I need their help in selecting a contractor that is willing to start the job of restoring my home since because of lack of knowledge in this area. I am an 88 year old widow and feel that it is NOT up to me but up to the insurance company to pick a contractor as they did when my home was damaged by a prior leak. They do have the ability and expertise to aid me. I need their help in this matter. It is not too much to ask. In the meantime, nothing is being done to restore my home.       I was sold an insurance policy by a atic rep and fully paid Bill. When I receive documents by mail. The age of the house is incorrect, the address is incorrect and the first initial of my name is incorrect. I called to get this corrected a d was told that policy cannot be offered and a refund would be issued. Paid with a credit card but atic sent check. Deposited check and it bounced. Was charged $15 by bank. Called company and they are a 9-5 business m-f (imagine if you have an emergency). I would like a refund including interest and bank charge expedited. Very unprofessional company. Should have believed reviews.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/01) */ The policy was canceled after it was determined that the dwelling at the correct address did not meet underwriting guidelines. A refund was issued and mailed to the Insured at the address on file, but per the agent's request that the refund be mailed to an alternate address, a stop payment was ordered. The check was already in the mail at the time the stop payment was ordered so when the Insured received the check and attempted to cash it, the referenced $15 fee occurred. A replacement check has been reissued for the refund, as well as a separate reimbursement check for the bank charge and interest, and mailed to the requested address. We have also contacted the consumer to discuss this matter and to reach this amicable resolution.
