In September 2023, we signed a contract with JE Clear Pool to build our pool. He has been avoiding me, and lately, he even blocked me. He has collected more than 70% of the payment. I contacted him, asking him to finish the job, but he eluded me for weeks. When he finally responded, it was with more promises that he did not honor. I was worried he could leave my job unfinished, so I started to look on the Internet, only to find out that several people have the same issue with this company and that their license has been revoked. The owner, *****************************, is the person I have been dealing with.Initial Complaint

Contracted JE Clear Pools to build pool in home. Contract was front loaded to collect 85% of the money and all we have is concrete shell in backyard with complete mess. Contractor keeps saying work will be done but no one shows. Feel free to watch the news story channel 10 did on this situation. I have all the cancelled checks but wasn't comfortable sending them over. Can provide if required. *******************************************************************************************************************************************Initial Complaint

I entered into a contract with JE Clear Pools on 12/15/2022. They broke ground on 2/21/2023. Since that time, they have formed a pool with concrete and poured decking. They attempted to texture the surface, but the job was absolutely done poorly with shoe prints in the texture when dried. They entered our neighborhood approximately 33 times since breaking ground and the last time they were at my house was 12/4/2023. He has since stopped responding to us at all. He has not cleared the original dirt and trees dug last February, no electrical, no equipment, no screen and no gunnite in pool. The total for the pool was supposed to be $76500 and I have paid him $72675 since they broke ground.I will be filing public complaint so people will know to avoid this business. I will also be filing with DBPR as this is unacceptable. He has stolen my money and failed miserably.Business response

I am rejecting this response because his contact with us is just a continuance of lies and open ended promises never executed. This liar promised to have the pool completed 100% by end of March. Yet, that was 2 weeks ago and we havent seen one person here. What he fails to understand is that this situation is quickly escalating in a direction that will not be beneficial for him or this garbage can company. Ive been more than patient and Im at **** endgive my $40k back for unfinished work or 30 days to finish. Its simpleI will take every single course of action civilly, criminally and otherwise to hold this scammer accountable for him stealing money from my family. He has now made this personal

I want to share my experience with JE Clear Pools for two reasons: First because I would like to have resolution by either getting our money back or pool finished promptly and second to warn others before going with this company if you want your pool done in a timely manner and not have your back yard ripped up for years. Contract for residential pool/spa.Signed pool contract on 9/15/22.Start of project began 1/7/23.All payments made from us to JE Clear pools as per the contract. Last payment made was on 7/7/23 which was the 4th payment and totaled $95,380 that we paid, leaving only a balance owed of $5,020.Contract says 5-7 months for completion after start date.New timeline says, "ready to swim weeks of July 3rd & 10th and screen cage is TBD."The second new and signed timeline says "finish tiles and fix pavers week of 1/8, equipment week of 1/15, and pool interior weeks of 1/22 & 1/29. Today is 2/6/24 and none of this has been done. Also says screen 2/19 and punchout 2/29. I'm sure if other work has not been done on time, this will not either. Damaged neighbors' fence.Broke 10 irrigation pipes.Promised to put gate up since dogs are getting out and drain the green mucky water from pool since neighbor's dog is jumping in and causing *********************** issues but neither has been done.**** is aware our homeowner's insurance has threatened to cancel us due to pool not being finished. Since the last payment received from us in July, they have literally ghosted us. **** either does not answer or respond or if he does, he makes promises to be here tomorrow or next week and that never happens. Our yard is a mess. Construction materials all over, large holes in front yard for drainpipes, no steps to come off patio, mosquitos from the nasty water, still have broken fence, we repaired irrigation pipes they busted ourselves with our own time and money so our plants/trees and remaining grass we have does not die. Same excuses: labor, sick, etc.!!!!Initial Complaint

We contracted with JE Clear Pools in March 2023 to resurface our pool and install pavers on our pool deck & install a new drain, light & skimmer. We requested that the job be completed by end of June 2023, and we were ensured by the company that it would be completed by that timeframe. The contract price of $21,000 called for installment payments as the work progressed. The initial installment payment (down-payment) of $6,000 was made in April 2023.The 2nd installment payment of $5,000 was made in May 2023 after the pool was drained. Regular communications from the company via text message (when prompted) indicated that work would be performed "later this week" or "we will call you back", however no work was performed for 1 month. Throughout June 2023, work was performed sporadically, and the pool demo was completed, the new skimmer and ************* were installed. The 3rd installment payment of $5,000 was made after tile and coping were installed. At this point, work ceased. We regularly attempted to communicate via phone calls and text messages. The company stopped answering the phone when we called. They would only respond to text messages occasionally, promising to continue work soon, with excuse after excuse given for why they could not continue work promptly. The main issue appeared to be delivery of pavers for the pool deck, and the company said they were having issues with the supplier. We offered to pick up the pavers ourselves, but these offers were ignored (no replies to our many requests). When our phone calls/messages and text messages continued to be ignored, we sent letters requesting a refund of $8,000 based on our estimate of the actual work completed. The last communication we received from them was September 13, 2023. No further responses to our phone calls, text messages or e-mails. We contracted with another company to complete the project, which they did within a month. We are requesting a refund of $8,000Initial Complaint

I contracted JE Clear Pools on 7/24/2023 to resurface my pool, replace the waterline tiles, install new coping, and furnish and install approximately 850 sq ft of new pavers. I gave the business manager a check for $9,500.00 at that time with the understanding that the project would be completed by the end of September. Although I didn't see much progress into September, they assured me that they were on track to finish by October 1st. On September 15th there was a crew here that completed the demo, which triggered the second installment of $5,000.00. When the business manager came to collect the second installment, I added some porcelain mosaics to the the contract and wrote him a check for $5650.00.The project is now almost 2 months overdue, my pool has been drained for almost three months and is a mosquito breeding ground. To date, the demo has been done, the waterline tiles have been replaced and the coping is done. The business manager says that they don't have much left to do, but no one ever shows up when promised to complete the job. There is never any proactive communication from them and when I reach out to ask when they will be here, they lie and almost always says, "tomorrow". I have been lied to dozens of times about when there would be people here to complete the job, including twice just this week!At this point, I have no confidence that JE Clear Pools has any intention of completing this project in any reasonable amount of time.Business response

This project is 95% done and will be done by end of this week with everything. We had some delays but we kept them informed and 1 day we didnt answer there call because the person in charge of the project wasnt available they started posting complaints. At the end they said they will remove everything. So far they are happy and we have done everything to please these customers.Initial Complaint

We contracted with JE Clear Pools LLC on September 20, 2022 for pool resurfacing and tile replacement. The projected start date was the end of October, however, to date no work has been started by the company. Several attempts have been made to contact the company for a start date. At first projected start days (not dates) were provided by the Company, which they would never honor. However, currently the Company is not responding at all.Business response

In October of 2022, we selected JE Clear to build our dream pool and ******** signed giving them a deposit for the pool, spa, composite roof and cage enclosure. The contract stated a 5-7 month build including permitting time. Permit applications were filed quickly and the permit process was completed by end of December. They broke ground first week of January and collected the second payment milestone. During the dig they unknowingly broke our wastewater sewer line forcing us to find another place to live for 1 weeks at additional expense. In late January they completed the steel, sprayed the gunite, and collected the third payment milestone. Now 70% in financially feeling like I should have negotiated different payment terms. During this first month of activity ****, the owner, was communicating fairly regularly and showing up to collect payments when due. At this point that progress came to a screeching halt. From Jan 27, 2023 to the date of this writing, 6 months, we have seen their crew three times for about 6 days of work. They are now well past the contract completion date and have collected the majority of the payments. Like many others have written, its quite clear they quickly did the necessary work to collect the milestone payments then disappeared. I have communicated (phone email and text) with **** several times per week, every week, during this time period. his answer is always, well be out this week for sure or some variation. Theyre lies and he knows it and he continues to do it anyway. I have asked him since day 1 to provide a project plan so that I could track progress. I never got one, and its clear that he didnt want to commit a timeline to paper. So now I sit with a dangerous construction site/concrete hole in my back yard, filled with water and breeding mosquitos, and no end in sight.Business response

We have been very much affected by the delay in the materials and equipment chain of supply during the pandemic. Unfortunately, have delays in many projects and we are working very hard to catch up with all of them. Besides that, there have been may unforeseen issues like bad weather and with labor shortage that have affected all our projects timeline as well. We apologize for any inconvenience and frustration this may cause and I am sorry for the lack of communication from my part. We have your project scheduled to resume work next week to finish it as soon as possible.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because a promise was made to show up this week to commence work and that didn't happen. I am requesting a project completion document be prepared on company letterhead, signed by the owner, and adhered to throughout the remainder of the project. Furthermore, I want my project to be a priority and expedited to completion with no degrade in quality.
Sincerely,

Disappointing Experience with JE Pools - Follow-Up Review It's been over two months since I last posted my review, and unfortunately, I find myself compelled to provide another follow-up on my experience with JE Pools. Despite ongoing communication with ****, the owner of JE Pools, I regret to say that my pool project remains incomplete, contrary to his assurances in his previous response. I can substantiate my claims with documented text messages, including those from today, September 6, 2023, where it's evident that he's seen my messages but chosen to ignore them. What's particularly disheartening is that my pool project still resembles its initial state, even though **** had committed to completing it within a few weeks, as he mentioned in his previous reply. Not only is the construction delayed, but there's also no sign of the promised pool heater. I'm left wondering where the funds I provided for the explicit purpose of finishing my pool project have gone; it seems like a mystery, possibly diverted to other assets he owns outside the country.********, **** has been offering a litany of excuses instead of taking responsibility and completing my project. He failed to follow up with the necessary inspections and neglected to inform me that the pool permit had expired with the county. It's both frustrating and disappointing to witness such a lack of professionalism and commitment on his part.To make matters worse, **** had the audacity to request the removal of my previous review after supposedly finishing the pool construction. This questionable business practice places the burden on the customer for his company's shortcomings and poor follow-up.I'll eagerly await a response from ****, the owner of JE Pools, and provide a further follow-up to this review. At this point, I remain deeply dissatisfied with my experience and the lack of progress on my pool project.Business response

We know there are no excuses for all the delays and inconveniences you have experienced during this construction process. We think we have explained to you sometime that we have had delays in many of our projects as a result of the affected material and equipment chain of supply during the pandemic. This issue affected us a lot. We have been in business for over 6 years with hundreds of happy customers and finished projects, and we are working to have yours finish as soon as possible. We don't understand where you got the information about your project permit expired, but it is currently active. unfortunately, we had an additional delay as one of the field managers, who do not work with us anymore, did not call some inspections at the correct time and he continue with the project. Engineers had to be involved to ok the inspections and we are working now to correct that and get the green light to finish the project. We really appreciate all your patience all this time and we know you will enjoy your swimming pool for many years to come as many other customers are already enjoying them.
