According the Woodstock Police Department, the owner of Elite Techs, James White, was arrested as of June 30, 2018.
Sgt. Ron Hughes of the Woodstock Police Department's criminal investigations division provided a multi-step, specific process that affected customers will be asked to take when they call to streamline the return of their device, if possible:
Step 1: Provide the police with a ticket number, serial number or other identifiers for your device;
Step 2: Tell police whether you paid any money up front for work that was never completed;
Step 3: Provide any supporting documents, including emails, text messages or other correspondence with the business;
Step 4: Complete and forward a written statement to police as soon as possible. In some cases, an in-person interview will be necessary;
Step 5: Police will locate the device, if it has been recovered, and return it to its owner;
Step 6: Police will ask whether the condition is the same as when it was turned into the business for repairs, whether it was fixed or whether it was further damaged;
Step 7: Additional questions from police may be necessary depending on the type of device or service that was supposed to be rendered.
Any prior or current customers of the Elite Techs location in Woodstock who may still have property at the business should contact the department's criminal investigations division at (770) 592-6000, extension 1127.
Any current or prior customers of Elite Techs of Kennesaw, at 3111 Moon Station Road, who might have property at that location are also encouraged to contact the Kennesaw Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (770) 422-2505 or via email to Lt. Graydon at cgraydon@kennesaw-ga.gov.
