On 1/2/2022 an **** PM, I purchased food at the Aldi Store. One item was a case (24 cans) of Cream of Chicken soup. This is an item I normally buy each month when I go to ******* to shop for food. Part of Aldi's Advertising is a "Twice as Nice" Guarantee on most items for sell. Part 1. Item Replaced, and Part 2. Money Refunded. This soup has this Guarantee printed on it. This soup is one of my favorite item and I am very familiar with how it taste. A few day later when I opened one of the cans and started to eat it, I notice a awful after taste and stopped eating it. I a couple of minutes my stomach wouldn't hold it and I regurgitated it up. I waited a few days and opened a second can and tasted a tiny sample thinking maybe the first can was just a fluke. The after taste was as bad as the first. I sampled a third can also and it was also awful. I refrigerated the two open cans, and returned the entire case for a refund on my next visit (today 2/16/22). The Aldi manager ******** refused to honor the Guarantee and stated it was optional on her part to decide to refuse the Guarantee printed on the product. I explained that I didn't even want a replacement, but only my money as Guaranteed. ****** still refused to refund my money and offered to keep the case of soup to donate to someone else. I assured her that I wanted no one to have to get sick. This appears to me to be false advertising and dishonest and even fraudulent. I purchased 3 plants at Aldi in ******* ** for $12.99 each. The plants were infested with bugs. Spider mites, snails, ants, grubs, etc. I didnt know this until a couple days after purchasing them, when I noticed ants running all over the cabinet where they were sitting. I spent a couple weeks trying to eradicate the issue and couldnt. I bought products @ Lowes and on Amazon to treat the infestation but they didnt work. I contacted Aldi. They had ***************** in ********* ******* contact me. **** from EG said he would mail me a gift card for the value of the 3 plants. I never received it. He offered me more than the value of the 3 plants and I said that wasnt necessary. I contacted Aldi again today and the representative contacted **** about the gift card. I told the representative I didnt want contacted by **** again, only Aldi. She agreed. She called back and said he was re-mailing it today, even though he told me he was re-mailing it 2 days ago. Against my wishes he contacted me again and said he was mailing it Monday. Ive been very patient and courteous but feel like Im being taken advantage of. I threw the plants in the trash. Aldi was able to find my receipt electronically and verified my purchase. Im entitled to a refund and thats all Ive been seeking. A refund for what I paid. Nothing more. Please assist me in getting my refund already.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:I did talk to Aldi and their distributor, *****************, and they stated they were resending a gift card. The distributor did provide verification that the previously sent gift card was returned to sender. I will wait to close my case until I receive the gift card. As of now I have not.

I input a pickup order Sunday, January 10th, 2022 at 10:53am for pickup on Monday January 11th, 2022 between 5-6 pm. I received a confirmation email. i showed up at the store in *********, **** at 5pm only to find out that my order time was changed to pickup between 6-7pm. I sat in the parking lot for 2hrs and at 7pm the manager stated they didn't have an order for me and stated I would need to take it up with Instacart it's not her problem. This is completely unacceptable. At any time this manager could have said she didn't have an order for me and I don't understand how I kept getting updated emails from Aldi for pickup times. This rude manager could have said earlier that Instacart had an issue getting my order over - if that was true and I could have just shopped instead of waiting in my car for 2 hrs!! I will never do business here again. I am a customer service manager and if I treated a customer like this I wouldn't have any!! Provide your staff with some proper business training.Business response

Every time I go to Aldi at ************************** in ******* the line is always all the way to the back with one register open. They are so short staffed people are in there working sick and have been told to just wear a mask. I am concerned for my health every time to even just go in there because the employees are sick and also look tired and overworked due to the lack of help. I am not understanding why they dont have extra help when needed or even someone that can be called in to help or take over for sick employees it just makes no sense with everything that is going around. Every time I ask one of the employees where their help is all they can do is shrug their shoulders and say they arent hiring any extra people for some reason. I am assuming that would also be why you have sick people working as well.Business response

Unfortunately, there is no option to leave a voice message, therefore we have been unable to reach the customer. An email was sent to the customer on 12/27/2021 and also on 12/28/2021, requesting that she contact us at her earliest convenience, however we have not received a follow up phone call. Aldi market in ************* advertised ground beef for $1.99 per pound for two days only. I went to purchase the ground beef on the first day of advertising and with surprised to see that there was no such product on the shelf but there were other products at a higher price. And then went and spoke to the manager and asked where the ground beef for $1.99 was and she informed me that they are not putting it out I said why she could not give me an answer I was further told that it might be put out the following day. The following day I went back with a friend and could not find the advertised product by the way I have a copy of the advertisement and then asked another manager where the product was and was told its in the back but they are not putting it out once again I asked and she could not give me an answer she offered to give me a two dollar discount on all my other purchases which I declined and left the store . This was a second incident that I had encountered at the store the first incident I was in the store and about to purchase some ************ that was advertised at $2.79 I got home and I looked at my receipt and I saw that I was charged $3.25 the following day I went back to the store and showed the manager and explained what happened whereby the manager refunded all of my money. I bring this to your attention knowing that other customers have paid higher prices in the advertised one and also other customers were searching for the same $1.99 ground beef product that I was and could not find it this form of advertising switch and bait is unacceptable. I am a very upset and perturbed that a grocery company as large as Aldis can do business like this and take advantage of the public trustBusiness response

A response was sent on January 20, 2022 to the ********** ************************ regarding this complaint from this customer. The beef was made unavailable for sale due to a supplier withdrawal. I am rejecting this response because:
With all due respect their response is biggest load of nonsense that I have heard. When I went into buy the product advertised I was told that they were not putting it out that day but I should come back the next day. If that was the case and that the food was tainted why didnt anybody say anything. This is an excuse and proves to me that they are not taking responsibility for the fact that they did not have that product to sell anything else is a misrepresentation of the truth. By the way they had other ground beef for sale and could have offered me and other customers the beef at the lower advertised price.
