To start I’ve been in this house since 2018 and initially rented it from a friend who in 2020 or so had JSJ take over the property for service/maintenance. I signed a lease in 2018 that never agreed to service fees. JSJ handles maintenance now and they have the worst service request response time I have ever had to deal with. It took two weeks for them to get back to me over my dryer breaking, and when I told them I bought the part and fixed it myself already they charged me $45 for a service/cancellation fee. Mind you they don’t even do appointments for service calls, it’s just first come first serve and they call you with about 30min notice. So I never missed a scheduled appointment, I just wasn’t available when they were and had already repaired the dryer myself by then anyway. I went to their office to dispute this fee and asked where in MY lease it says I agreed to cancellation fees like and they tried to con me by saying I had to pay it and showing me a page from THEIR lease agreement (which I never signed mind you) instead. I left in anger and then called and asked them to send me copies of every document they have that has my signature. They did, but not before quietly erasing the fee and apologizing via a text to my girlfriend. They knew they got caught and tried to cover their tracks. On top of it all, one of their Manager’s, Morgan W*****, tries to fight negative G***** reviews by posting her own 5 star reviews in response and there are some reviews stating that they even ask tenants/employees for positive reviews in exchange for rent discounts. Avoid this company like the plague.
