10/09/24 I bought a power steering pump from LKQ. 10/20/24 11 days later I have installed the pump and the pump was faulty. I misplaced the receipt along the way. I tried to call LKQ before leaving my house which is 35 miles each way to drive back and forth to LKQ. The phone had 3 extensions. One for finding the nearest location 2 for selling your car and 3 for finding the price for a part. Options 1 and 3 did not work. Turns out they dont have a working phone at that facility. So I called the 2nd option to talk to someone and they were no help either. They told me that I had to drive to the yard to talk to someone, so I did. Immediately upon arrival I had to pay 3$ each for my partner and myself to get into the building and yard. The guy at the counter tells me theres nothing they can do without the receipt. The date I bought it was on the part and I paid by card which I offered to show them the transaction. Still nothing they could do, I asked for a manager and he refused at first then I insisted. The guy behind the counter huffed, rolled his eyes and got the manager who immediately started telling me theres nothing he could do. I asked about the money for the entrance fee since we literally walked from one counter to another to ask about a return and he said there was nothing he could do there either. I asked if there was anyone I could call for corporate, he gave me the 1800 number that I originally called. I told him I already tried that and he shrugged his shoulders, said sorry, and walked to his office. So I called the 1800 number back and talked to the sales people again, who would not let me talk to a manager or supervisor even though they said he was there. They were rude and this entire company is shady, Im out a power steering pump, Worry free warranty, gas money both ways, and entrance fees for both trips for my partner and I, Im very disgruntled and I feel that they dont care.Business response

I paid for a premium engine and received an engine dumped on its side every sensor broken. Every hole was left un covered. And vin plate was removed from engine unable to identify if it was the one I ordered. Load was also unsecured engine was just on its side on a pallet no strap or anythingBusiness response

I called to sale my car told them everything going on with the car they knew it had a lean on it they knew it was a 2015 they said theyll give me 640 for the car I said ok pick it up do I need any paperwork I dont have a title they said its ok they came and pick the car up I called to know when to pick the check up they said it going through checks on the car theyll call me back to let me know they called back and said the check is ready to be picked up I said again do I need to bring anything they said no come pick up the check I caught a taxi to the location when get there they ask for the title I said I told you I didnt have 1 you said it was ok the person at the location said they cant buy it cause its a 2015 with no title but they were told that before hand I said ok well can I have the car back they said it would be 65 dollars and I need to have a tow truck on hand when I pay the 65 cash I call who I talked to on the phone to remedy the situation the person said they would have a high up call me in 30 minutes to remedy but no call I called back the person said theyll get there higher up to call me in 15 no call so I need some help I feel like they knowingly tried to steal my car failed but extracted $65 and tow fee its wrong we had a verbal agreement multiple times and I checked over and over to make sure no time or resources were wasted but they liedBusiness response

i paid $4302 for an engine for my 2006 jeep commander om march 02,2023.Since then my vehicle has been in the shop several times due to being sold a faulty engine.I have spent out thousands of dollars and have not even been able to enjoy the vehicle for 90 whole days .At this point I am over it and would just like a refund for the faulty engine I purchased and i will buy me another vehicle.The head gaskets for this motor got changed the beginning of this year and already it need new ones .This is unacceptable.Business response

PURCHASED A ***** AND A WARRANTY AND THE ***** WENT BAD WITHIN A LITTLE OVER 1000 MILES AND TOOK TO THE MECHANIC AND HE TOOK A PICTURE OF THE HEAT SEAL THAT WAS ON IT AND SENT TO LKQ AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS BARELY EVEN MELTED THAT IS HAD NOT GOTTEN THAT HOT BUT LKQ IS CLAIMING IT WAS RAN HOT AND DENIED THAT WARRANTY! I am rejecting this response because: I found out from the mechanic that LKQ rejected warranties all the time no matter what happened they find a reason to reject! This engine only had ***** miles on it when it messes up. I think they should replace it.

Then a few months later a sticker label shows up and demanding payment for a terrible quality product at 2x the price of another company that i ordered from after no communication. I ordered an engine from automotix which must be a part of lkq because the paperwork says lkq corporation. On the website they list descriptions on their engines such as mileage and damage such as a damaged intake manifold.I ordered an engine that didn't list the oil pan being damaged, it wasn't noticeable on the pallet when it was delivered but noticeable after I stripped all the broken parts of the engine and lifted it on a hoist in order to install it. Their policy appearantly doesn't cover anything but the main block of the engine. Even though the oil pan is a structural component to mount the engine as well as integrated with the sump and oil filter. My problem isn't their policy. My problem is their deceptive practices in order to sell broken stuff. They list some damages on some engines to give you the impression that if you order an engine that doesn't list damaged parts, you'll get an engine without those damaged parts. In my specific case the engine that was being replaced had a rod go through the oil pan. I convinced the customer to spend a little more money just to buy an engine and the engine that shows up had a broken oil pan too, so now I have to tell the customer it will cost even more money and take even more time to buy an oil pan.I called and talked to someone, they had me send in pictures then without any communication or notice to me, I get a bill of lading for a return shipment for the engine I already put in the car, not just the oil pan. After seeing this I had to call the company again to see what was happening. They explained that it was a straight return, no fix, nothing for the time and money I've already lost with their shady business practices so my only option through them is to waste more weeks to ship back their broken stuff and order new stuff. I can't afford to keep s******* around. They should not be allowed to continue these deceptive practices to sell junk. Notice on the paperwork notes, condition a, damage 000.Business response

The third party website that you purchased the part from offers a 12 month or ***** mile warranty on the long block assembly. This consists of the engine block and all it's internal parts, along with the cylinder head(s) and all it's internal parts. We will not be able to assist you further with this complaint

Listing damages to some parts, while not listing damages to other parts is a deceptive practice in order to sell broken junk. I've gotten plenty of junkyard engines and I have never in my life gotten something that had almost everything but the block and head broken. If there's a broken intake or oil pan, the companies I've worked for in the past have had the integrity to list that damage. Unlike your company who lists that damage on some engines so you can trick people into buying engines that don't list that damage such as you did to me. It's not that hard to do the right thing, but it's obvious your company has zero integrity.

I came in to purchase a used battery. When I noticed the id stickers were different I was informed that they NK longer sell batteries with lifetime warranties. i said ok. They still honor batteries prior purchased with this warranty correct? She said no, even though I purchased a warranty with it. Then I paid cash for my new(used) battery. She gave me my change (paper change, no coins) and turned away and took up a conversation with another employee. I was already disappointed about the warranty issue and didn't pay attention to my change until I got home. I was shorted .45. not a big deal right? Do this with thousands of customers a day and you see where this is going. I sent an email to the location that night and have gotten zero response. This is the second time they ignored customer communication from me, the first time I never pursued it. (This was a scrap car issue) Since that time I've spoken to numerous people who were shorted in the same way but didn't bother pursuing anything because it was so little. I'm tired as a customer being treated like I don't matter. No customers? No business.Business response

I purchased a rebuilt Hybrid Battery for my 2012 ******* ****** hybrid from Green Bean (lkq/keystone) . They sent an installer to install the battery and he did but could never get the car to turn on. I had it towed to the dealership, they replaced the bybrid system fuse and said the hybrid battery needs replacing. I contacted green bean and they told me things that the dealership should try, they did and still said it needs a battery. I had the installer contact the technician that was working on my car, and he agreed that it needs a new hybrid battery. He told me it should be no problem, but green bean stopped returning my messages and now the dealership wants it fixed or off of their lot. Ni spent over $1700 for the battery and it never ran the vehicle at all. I even offered to pay some for a replacement, but no response. I need answers ASAPBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:I have included a screenshot of the invoice. It was purchased online through Greece and batteries. They delivered the battery to my home and sent Deonte, their Installer to install the battery. He kept trying different things after installing the battery trying to make it work. He took some parts off of my original battery and put on the green bean to see if that would work, nothing worked. He told me to buy a new 12 volt battery and try it, which I did but didn't work then either. I had it towed to the dealership and they Informed me it needed a relay and a new hybrid battery. They also mentioned that the parts removed from my original battery may not have been compatible to the new battery and may have damaged it, but without it ever doing anything after the Installation there is no way to know. I have since had to have it towed back home bc LQK stopped responding to my emails or texts. I spent 1700+ for a battery that has never been used plus $200 for towing to the dealer, plus a $225 12 volt battery which it may not have needed and another $200 to get the car towed back home bc LQK wouldn't help me and ignored me!!!! I wanted a battery while the.car was at the dealership so the tech there could assure nothing was done Incorrectly and would know exactly that all components of the battery, went with that battery and they could perform any additional test if needed. This has put me without that car for months and it's just sad that I was ignored and to me personally, that says a lot about the Company and how it stands(or doesn't stand) behind its products and installers!

I am rejecting this response because: I was finally contacted by someone, and they wanted something different than I had sent months ago. I sent a full report of the dealership findings a couple of months ago, and I was ignored until I reached out to the BBB, Then they stated that I hadn't sent them the information I had already sent. They said it had to be an email and not copied and pasted, which after reviewing the warranty, it doesn't state anywhere in what format, just that they need the diagnostics, which I provided. I was embarrassed to have to reach out yet again about the car they worked on months ago, but they warned me about Green Bean Battery, but I didn't listen. I provided the attached documents to the person I have been speaking with, but haven't heard back. Sad thing us, now that I've had to pay over $300 in tow charges, and my car is at my house, even if they want to help out in any way, it does no good if the car isn't at the dealership. Disappointing is an Understatement!!!!

I am rejecting this response because: I have heard from someone from Green Bean, and the mail said they were going to send a battery and stated that the scheduled delivery for the battery was October 10th, and the driver would reach out 1 to 2 days prior. I haven't heard anything since, not from Green Bean, or a delivery driver. I am hoping a battery is coming soon, but with no communication other than what I've mentioned, I am not very confident.
