Aroun end of june my ******* tucson was involved in a car accident that fortunately did not result in serious harm or worse. After much back and forth, and other things the day i was finally able to go and retrieve my vehicle i was told it was $1915. After stopping by skokie police department to have them print out the necessary document there was a $500 fee that needed to be paid. I had to deduct this $500 from the $1915. I called *** Mar and asked them if I could pay the $1415 as a way of paying down the $1915, i wasnt asking to take the car but simply to pay down some of the massive fees that accured. I asked if i could come back and pay the $500 on top of whatever accured in the time i needed to come back with the $500, and they said no they cant do that. 2 weeks later i contacted them inquiring about making a payment plan to which they stated the car was depot. I asked what happened to my items inside the car no one ever responded to the email. I called and asked what happened to my things inside the car, the only thing they said was we dont touch the things in the car and we sent a letter. I asked where can i retrieve my things they still responded with "we sent a letter" the address they read off to me i hadnt lived there in almost 2 years then and only then did she read off my correct address. I waited and waited and I never recieved this letter they claimed they mailed. Im certain the car is long gone stripped for parts or sold however i do not understand what was so difficult in telling me where and how i can retrieve my items that were inside the car. Some of the items im pretty sure they or whoever has the car are using like my beach chairs my bbq grill my folding table my umbrella blankets and pillows. I tried my best to come up with money for such an unexpected expense and having just came up $500 short all i needed was one day at best to get the $500. I really just wanted to get my things outta the car or something other than we sent a letter

This vehicle, 2013 ******* Tucson, was towed by ***-Mar Towing at the request of the ***************** on 6/25/2024 for an accident/arrest. The vehicle release was contingent on a release by the ***************** which required a $500 fee to the PD. The car was accruing storage fees on a daily basis along with the original tow charges. According to policy we waited the time allotted and sent out certified letters to the two addresses we had on file for the owner. Both letters were returned undelivered by the ****. We then sent out disposal notices according to our policy. Who the owner talked to or what information was exchanged on what days is unknown as we only had one reference of the owner calling on 7/11/2024 questioning the daily storage fee. The vehicle was disposed of according to policy.

I am rejecting this response because: They  claim they sent letters and they were returned undelivered by ****. When I emailed them and called them regarding the belongings in the car they never responded via email and the woman I was speaking with when I called stated "we mailed a letter" I said okay but where can I get my things? And her response was "we mailed a letter, I can't disclose anymore information than that" She told me she sent the letter to an address in ***************, which I have not resided at in about 2 years now, however she was able to tell me my current address which is in ***********. So I do not believe they ever sent a letter and if they did and it came back 2 from **** then they were sending it to the wrong address when I specifically told them that the ************** *********** was the CORRECT address. And my last contact with them was not 7/11 it was 7/30 via email when I inquired about the vehicle and when I called and asked the woman i spoke with about my belongings in the car and again her response and only response was we sent a letter

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

My car was stolen in ******* and used in crimes in *****, **. *************** recovered my vehicle four blocks from my house yet had ******* tow it out to ****************** without my permission. The service was rendered without my consent. The business then refused to release my car unless I pay $305. Some of the charges included a daily storage fee even though the car was only in their lot for less than a day and a lien letter charge which has absolutely nothing to do with a stolen car tow. The Niles and ******* police offered me no assistance in getting the vehicle out even though there is a law in ******* requiring a free release. The merchant refused and escalated the situation when I asked about a police voucher. I was never informed by either the police or the tow company that my vehicle was ready for pick up. The transaction occured on 1/29/2024.

It is an unfortunate situation to have your car stolen.  However we have a contract with the *********************** to do all of their towing.  We honor the contracted rates that are in our contract.  We provided a service and that comes with a cost.  Personally I think the criminals should have to be held accountable and pay any fees due.  I am sorry but your vehicle was not taken without content.  When a police department calls us directly we are given authorization to provide a service.  We helped you, we towed your car towed it back to a safe secure storage lot if anything you should be thankful for our services.  Sorry we are not issuing a refund.
