Better Business Bureau The following letter was sent to the President and Vice President of Woodland, *** and ***** ********, respectively. The letter best describes my complaint. The response was a voice mail from ***, the Woodland president, acknowledging receipt of the letter and thanking me for sending it. The only indication of rectifying the issue or making any changes was for said President to check with Purchasing to see what could be done internally. To date, no further calls/updates were made.Following is the letter with only a sentence altered with the passage of time, that is, instead of writing, I have already spent over 2 hours on my hands and knees trying to get the caulk off my floor. , I altered the sentence for the BBB to say that time was spent to find out HOW to get the caulk off the floor. _________________________________________________________________________To: *** and ***** ******** THE WOODLAND EXPERIENCE 2 sets of casement windows were replaced on 9/16/2024. The windows look great! Functionality and fulfilling the purpose that the window replacements are intended for will be disclosed with the passage of time. What I am unhappy with is the amount of clean-up that I was left with. I was not expecting what I ******* begin with, I was surprised to see that, although tarps were used, they were pretty dirty and nasty looking. On top of that, the big garbage can that was brought in the master bedroom was not put on the tarp but on my carpet, as was the big vacuum cleaner that the guys used. The tarp started from the entry way and led thru the apartment; however the start of the tarp was not from the door. Instead there was a gap of about a foot that left the floor exposed. This, along with the used tarp, meant that caulk was smeared on my wood floor, not only in the exposed section, but extending beyond that, so that the light colored wood floor was left with patches of gray where the caulk was smeared in. This could have been the result of caulk falling off the tarp when it was picked up or caulk was on the bottom of the used tarp. I had to spend time to find out how to get the caulk off my wood floor because my initial attempts on my hands and knees trying to get the caulk off my floor did not work. Additionally, there are small marks in the floor that were not there before. And as far forward as 6 days after the window replacement, I picked up a piece of caulk from the floor. Lord only knows whats in my carpets.Further evidence of a used tarp past its time is from the amount of debris I was left with on my master bedroom carpet. Understand, I am not necessarily complaining about having had to vacuum, I certainly preferred having to do that over the possibility of the workers dragging that filthy vacuum cleaner all over my master bedroom carpet. What I was surprised about is the amount of debris left all over the carpet.Having paid about $9,500 for window replacements, I certainly would not have minded another $100 or so if thats what it would have taken to have new tarp or new painters drop cloths spread out. After comparing notes with others I know who have had their windows replaced, I recognize that buying new tarp for each job may be unrealistic. My question then would be how many jobs has the same tarp been used for and when are used tarps replaced?
