    In August 2024, the BBB investigated Rose Reeds’s business practices. This investigation was prompted by a scam tracker request. The details of the scam stated that after making a purchase from the website, the consumer never received the product. The consumer alleged to have reached out multiple times but did not receive any info on when the product would arrive. 

    Per the consumer:

    "I ordered oboe reeds and a reed case on 11/28 that never arrived. I never received any shipping or tracking info either. I have tried for a more than a week to contact Jenny (the owner) and she hasn't responded to my emails, my messages through her website or calls. Her website still had a message the week before Christmas that you could get an order in with priority shipping. Ha! I love to support small businesses but this is not one to support. I went to her Facebook page and it seems like this is a common thing for her customers. I should have checked her Facebook page before I purchased through her website. It seems like this is how she runs business, taking peoples money and then no communication no product."

    We do not have a viable address found for this location. There is no SOS report for this company. We have not received a response regarding the ownership. 

    On 08/21/2024, 08/27/2024 and 09/04/2024, BBB requested additional information. As of 9/12/2024, BBB has not received any response from the business.

    I have purchased wonderful, professional, hand-made reeds from Rose Reeds for a few years now. I was so glad to find a small business that made reeds because I never mastered the skill myself, and it feels great to play on good, homemade reeds. However, when I ordered a couple of reeds this summer for a performance, I was very disappointed. I ordered 2 professional oboe reeds on June 25th, 2023, and it is August 9th. I still do not have the reeds. I reached out in an email inquiring about the reeds on July 15, after my performance, and was told I should have a shipping notice by the beginning of the week. I did not receive that shipping notice until the 20th. After waiting over a week, I reached out again, and received a response on the 30th that the reeds would be shipped on Monday or soon thereafter, with promise of an update, but the tracking information still says the reeds are awaiting pre-shipment in **********. I reached out again, inquiring about the reeds on August 7 and first received an error notice that the email address did not exist. I resent the email in the evening, and did not receive a response. Unfortunately, I had to report the purchase on PayPal for a refund, because six weeks is just way too long to wait, especially when the website advertises a two-week turnaround time for shipping, especially if you order a surprise me color oboe ****, which I did instead of choosing the colors I actually wanted. During this time, I did also receive the email to all of the customers apologizing for how the business was run in the past year due to personal reasons, and I completely understand, and sympathize. We all have times where life gets crazy, and we neglect certain things in our lives, and sometimes that is work. I was truly trying to be patient, but could not wait any longer. I am truly sorry, because I have never had any issues with Rose Reeds before. I have loved every **** I have purchased, but I am withdrawing my business from Rose Reeds.
