I have done business with Sanborn’s since mid-80’s and never had an issue until now. April 29th Service man left invoice for replacing the clock(circuit board) & small wire harness on my ********** ******* electric stove. I had taken pictures of the circuit board and sent to Sanborn’s so they could see what had shorted out & needed replaced. I asked for a quote and was told charges would be $270 to $280 including parts, labor, trip charge & tax. Serviceman installs and says to only use stove but not oven because he thinks the wiring harness should be replaced also but must order this part. So I call Sanborn’s again to get price quote for total cost of additional part, labor,… total bill. Was told bill now would be $372 total. I did not question why he never brought the wire harness the 1st time. Serviceman installs wire harness and gives me invoice to sign which I did believing the total charges was $372. He said I would receive a bill in mail from them and I could stop at store & pay with credit card. I believed total bill was the quote I received over the phone & I had to pay with my Social Security check I would receive Wednesday May 11th. I never received bill in the mail from Sanborn’s prior to receiving my SS Check but I looked at invoice I had signed the day I received my check so I would have the money in my account to cover the $372. This is when I see the total bill is actually $477.85. I call Sanborn’s again and this time I’m told $477.85 is the bill I must pay or Serviceman can come take off the parts if I wish. I said I would like them to please send me the bill I was told by Serviceman I would receive and would appreciate the total cost to be $372 as was quoted ! I was prepared to pay this amount but had to receive my monthly Social Security Check & just been deposited in my account so I could now pay. Friday May 27th I receive the same invoice totaling $477.85. I will no longer do business with & definitely would not recommend Sanborn’s to anyone!!!!
