My experience with HER Home Design LLC in November of 2022, is a business thats unethical, dishonest, and very poor customer service. I am an interior ************************ in another part of the country. I reached out to them to be a freight receiver and home delivery service for my client that had recently moved to ************. I ordered a king *** through my business for them to receive and deliver to my clients home. I thoroughly communicated with HER Home Design to explain situation in detail, they were more than happy to receive the *** and deliver to my clients home. The responsibility was receiving and delivery clearly understand at the time. Once it arrived to their warehouse they called me to tell me actually they could not deliver it, they had no one available to deliver it to my clients home and delivery wasnt now an option by them. I was shocked as a fellow designer, what they agreed upon they were no longer following through on. They knew I was in a hard spot as they now had control, they had my clients furniture. Further, they lied to me and told me the employee I dealt with originally no longer worked for them. Recognizing her voice, I looked back at my notes from original conversation and was able to see they were lying as I was currently talking to the same person! I asked them to respectfully review this invoice as a last ditch effort to recoop some of the time and energy this business had stole from me, as their bill was also terribly inflated. They said their book-keeper would review it and of course I never heard back from them, just terrible business. Not only did I have to hassle and reinburse my client to find a truck to come get the *** from HER Home Design, this unethical business turned around and billed me $373.00 to basically have a freight truck back up to their warehouse, drop off *** and store it for two days before my client came and got it. Potential future clients need to know the truth about this business. Run!!

    HER Home Design, LLC Response

This is COMPLETELY untrue.HER Home Design was contacted via phone by a designer who said she was in Washington. On the day she called, she spoke directly to an executive assistant who was serving her final day at HER accompanied by a new person who was being trained. The designer said she had a client in ************ and she needed to send a bed from a vendor to our warehouse to be delivered to her client. The designer was told by the now-former employee that the decision to provide the service would need to be approved by a principal and if approved, an invoice for the service would be sent to her. When the request came to me as the principal, I told both my employees it sounded like fraud and I DECLINED the ask. I was out of the studio with walking pneumonia and did not call the designer back at all. Further, our business is in the midst of a 14k sq foot MOVE/RELOCATION and we did/not and do not have the resources to accommodate such an ask, so I never would've approved it, even If I was in the studio. One week later, unexpected furniture showed up at our warehouse. It was dropped off at our front door. When we looked at the documents, it showed sent by the designer who had called a week prior. When my business manager called to tell me, I was in complete shock. In all my years of practice, I'd NEVER been in that situation. I immediately asked my business manager to call the designer back and clarify the situation. I asked my business manager to charge the designer for receiving the furniture because I had to call in a crew to remove the pieces from in FRONT OF OUR DOORS and move them to a safe place within the moving chaos of our building so it wouldn't get damaged. I also instructed my business manager to refer the designer to a local white glove delivery company that could assemble and deliver the furniture because we COULD NOT do it.When the business manager contacted the designer, the designer accused the new business manager of coordinating the process. The business manager has only been with the company for THREE WEEKS. There's no way she could've approved or coordinated the delivery because she would not have known HOW. Further, the designer was never invoiced for the service, nor was a contract sent or signed, nor was there ANY agreement at ALL about receiving the furniture. Our PUBLISHED hourly rate for *any* design service is $359 and that fee would've been double *and* specified in a CONTRACT if the designer had actually waited for approval before sending her items to my firm.HER Home Design has had no previous dealing with this designer. Her "design firm" is not on ****** My Business or in any of our design ******** groups or professional associations. We'd never heard of her before. What if this furniture had been stolen and randomly sent to our firm to deliver stolen items? What kind of professional designer coordinates a drop-off like that without a signed contract with mutually agreed-upon deliverables?*We're* unethical? Uhm, no. This WHOLE scenario is completely unethical and is poor business on behalf of the designer.Lastly, when the designer's "client" showed up to get the furniture, he wreaked of alcohol and was clearly intoxicated. He had a whole make-shift truck bed and the "pick-up" was filmed and photographed be our staff. What kind of designer doesn't want to use a professional, white-glove delivery service? This whole scenario smells like fraud and bad business. We have contacted our vendor rep for the company who sent the furniture and will be contacting the so-called designer's rep as well to report this unethical practice.
