My partner and I were in the market for a new property rental. Now, you would think that it would be easier to find a rental during the summer, especially since this is a college town, but that's not the case here apparently. We came upon Consolidated Property Management, they had a few properties that was in the budget for us, so I got in contact with one of their representatives. All three of us discussed possible property options and we settled on one that looked promising, so we scheduled an appointment. My partner, being as diligent as she is, looked through some rental options online and she notices that the property that was listed that we were interested in, suddenly became unavailable on their website. Now, my rationale tried to tell me that it was just because of the possibility of us renting this property during that viewing appointment. The next day I was met with text messages from my partner who informed me that Consolidated had cancelled the appointment due to being rented. Now understand, the hours they had for viewings conflicted with my work schedule so I had to call off that day. I get in contact with Consolidated and inquired about this. I was met with dismissiveness and nonchalance. I believe a good business is to hold to the appointments given, take in consideration of all the possible tenants applying, and then make a decision. I suggest anyone who is looking for a rental property in the **************/Lafayette area should give this company a wide birth and avoid at all costs. If this is what I am met with as an introduction to a new company, I can only imagine the horrid conditions that their actual tenants experience.
